No probs NDB, it was a good read, and you're a braver woman than me to be dieting over the festive period!!

Thursday 13/12:

0715: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1030: 1 scoop whey in water.
1300: half a tin of tuna, 15g pesto, 50g pasta, 50g spinach, 30g olives, 100g tomato.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
Training: Body Combat, Body Attack and abs.
2000: 2 scoops whey in water.
2130: 2 boiled eggs.

Had a brill session at the gym. They're introducing Body Attack on Saturday, which I love and haven't done for a few months, and they trialled it tonight after BC so I had to stay! Loved it, have missed it so much!! Doing 2 hours straight of high-intensity cardio really knackered me though, and because I'd stayed at the gym later than normal I didn't have time to eat properly at night. Luckily I had some eggs boiled in the fridge or I'd have had nothing at all.

Thought my calves would be really tight today as I haven't done BA for so long - which worried me slightly as today is legs day - but they're fine. Bring on the BA tomorrow as well, woohoooo!!!!!!!

Tic Teaser, you look like you're dieting!

I know you'll slap my wrists for the half tin of tuna, but there was only one tin left so I've split it between my lunch for Thursday and Friday until I go shopping.

And the 2 eggs yesterday was purely because I had no motivation to cook anything when I got in and they were there! Most days I'm coming in at about 1600 calories, which seems reasonable to me. I'm not gaining or losing as far as I can tell by appearance (no idea what I weigh; must get round to doing it soon), so it can't be far wrong. Feel a bit bloated if anything but I'm putting that down to the creatine and all the extra water I'm drinking at the mo.

I feel a bit guilty for suggesting you were slacking off now.

As far as the diet goes;

"Two eggs is not un oeuf."

No really, I was slacking off!

Anyway I told you I'd hammer my cardio to make up for it, so nurgh!

I'm doing my bis with my legs tonight though so all I've actually missed this week is my back, and I might do that on Sunday. And after Christmas I intend to do a.m. cardio every week day as my new gym doesn't do BTS classes, which means I'll be able to go back to a nice, normal 4 or 5 day split instead of this weird 3-day malarkey. Although I may try and find somewhere that does BTS that you can just pay-as-you-go for, as I'll miss 'em otherwise.

AND THE EGGS WERE A ONE-OFF!!!!!!!!

Friday 14/12:

0715: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1030: 1 scoop whey in water.
1300: half a tin of tuna, 15g pesto, 50g pasta, 50g spinach, 30g olives, 100g tomato.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
Training: legs and biceps.
1900: 2 scoops whey in water.
2200: small meat feast pizza, yum!

Squats 4 x 10, 50kg.
SLDL 4 x 10, 45kg.
Leg press 4 x 12, 115kg.
Calf raises 4 x 12, 69kg.
BB curls 4 x 10, 20kg.
Seated DB concentrations 3 x 8 with 10kg & 1 x 6 with 12kg.

I lowered the weight on my squats and did 'em right the way down, and it didn't seem to hurt my knees too much. They were a bit achey on Saturday but nothing I can't cope with. As you can see Friday also turned into my cheat day as I went out. Only drank water though as I went in the car and I'm a good girl who doesn't break her diet too much.

Saturday 15/12:

1000: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1200: 1 scoop whey in water.
1430: tin of tuna, 15g pesto, 50g pasta.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
1900: 2 scoops whey in water.
2100: lamb steak with potatoes and mangetout.

Rest day training-wise. Ok so I cheated a bit today too but the mangetout is ok and the lamb is ok apart from being a bit fatty. It was the potatoes that were naughty but I WANTED THEM!!!

Sunday 16/12:

1000: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1200: 1 scoop whey in water.
1430: tin of tuna, 50g pasta, 15g pesto, 100g spinach.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
Training: 52 minutes jogging/running, have forgotten what my average HR was though, duh!
1900: 2 scoops whey in water.
2100: 200g chicken, 10ml olive oil, 100g beansprouts, 80g mangetout, 100g tomato.

This Friday is my office Christmas do in the afternoon and I'm going back up north that night, so I'm a bit stuck as to how to arrange my week to fit everything in. Will do my push day today, pull day tomorrow and BC Thursday, but can't do legs Wednesday as I'll have done deadlifts the day before; so hopefully I'll be able to get the spare keys for the gym at home once I'm back to do my legs on Saturday. I'll be able to start my unfuelled cardio as of Saturday too as I'll have trainers again, woohoo!!!

Nah, I'm kind of maintaining a pretty much constant weight at the moment I think - well, going by what I see in the mirror anyway. I'll weigh myself this weekend at my mum's gym. If anything I've probably put on a bit of weight over the last few months; part of which I think must be down to going from a pretty active lifestyle to a desk job, and part of which will be because I don't have as much time to train as I used to. That's why I'm determined to get into a.m. cardio once I've got my other trainers (will be able to start on Saturday, woohoo!!). There's a stubborn band of fat around my stomach which is refusing to budge at the moment, gaaah!!

Tuesday 18/12:

0715: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1030: 1 scoop whey in water.
1300: tin of tuna, 15g pesto, 50g pasta, 100g spinach.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
Training: chest, shoulders and tris, plus abs.
1900: 2 scoops whey in water.
2030: 200g chicken, 10ml olive oil, 100g beansprouts, 40g mangetout, 200g tomato.

Oly bar bench press 4 x 10, 40kg.
DB incline press 4 x 10, 12kg.
BB military press 3 x 10, 15kg.
DB lat raises 3 x 10, 6kg.
Dips 4 x 10.
DB tricep kickbacks 4 x 10, 10kg.
Three sets each of weighted rope crunches, one-leg Swiss ball crunches, toe-touches and Russian twists.

I never seem to make any improvement with my shoulders, they're really weak. Bah! After Christmas when I get back into the a.m. cardio I'll hopefully have time to go back to doing a 4 or 5 day split in the evenings so maybe splitting my shoulders up from other things will help.

Yesterday I went doing my dad's Christmas shopping for my mum as he's got no idea what to buy her (new trainers, a boot bag, some Hotel Chocolat choccy-coated cherries, some Champney's body scrub and a bottle of Calvados), and I thought I'd get myself a little treat for doing it for him (he'll never know - he'll just ask me how much I spent then give it to me, heh heh!)...... PINK BOXING GLOVES!!!!

I've been after some new pad gloves for ages and I couldn't resist. I therefore had to have a little go when I got home after doing my weights, so this morning my arms are frigging killing me. Note to self: attacking punchbag after doing triceps is not big or clever and can only end in DOMS.

Wednesday 19/12:

0715: 40g oats, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 10g sunflower seeds, 2 egg whites.
1030: 1 scoop whey in water.
1300: tin of tuna, 15g pesto, 50g pasta, 100g spinach.
1700: 1 scoop whey in water and a banana.
Training: back and biceps, plus abs.
1900: 2 scoops whey in water.
2030: 200g chicken, 10og green beans.

Deadlift 4 x 10, 45kg.
DB one-arm bent-over row 4 x 10, 18kg.
EZ bar curls 4 x 10, 20kg.
Seated DB concentrations 4 x 10, 10kg.
3 sets each of leg raises on a Swiss ball (holding onto the back of a bench and wobbling a lot - not done these for ages!) weighted rope crunches, and reverse crunches.

Then I went home and played with my new pink gloves a bit more to really tire my arms out again!!

The gym has been packed for some reason this week, and the teeny-tiny free weights section even more so than normal. We appear to have been taken over by an academy rugby team or something who all train together, take up all of the dumbells, are ridiculously noisy* and never put anything away.

*I've nothing against people having a laugh when they're training; you should see me and my mum sometimes when we get our giddy heads on. However, 7 or so young lads shouting to and chucking things at each other across the gym and messing about on the equipment is really not funny. Meh.

I wanted pink boxing gloves when I did kick boxing but couldn't find any at the time! That time has now passed

As for Shoulders, I think they're a weak point for most women. Mine are very poor. Infact, I Lat Raise the same as you and have done for about 2 years now -phish! I have problems with mine, tore ligaments while snowboarding and they've never been the same since... You'll get there though Ticteaser, I'm sure of it

hiya tic, havent posted on your journal for at least 5 pages! but thats the joy of moving house
may i make a small suggestion? well i will anyway!
if your stuggling to make any progress on your shoulders you could move them to the first excercise you do. you wont really lose anything from your benching 2nd. but will hit shoulders with full force.
I changed to do my shoulders before benching and my weights went up pretty damn quick!

Cheers imsimon, will try that over the next few weeks and see if it helps.

Flick, at least you can use your cool snowboarding injury as a reason: I'm just rubbish.

Oops. I've had many an Unidentified Drinking Injury over the years, but none that have done me any lasting damage. You seem to do pretty Goddamn good even with an injury though chuckie.

TIO: mine is a FF too, stoopid gym.
