friday 27th july 2007 No training partner today waaaa Squats 115.5(52.5)x5 143(65)x5 170.5(77.5)x5 203.5(92.5)x5 Felt my form is improving 236.5(107.5)x3 176(80)x8 Bench 104.5(47.5)x5 126.5(57.4)x5 154(70)x5 181.5(82.5)x5 209(95)x3 154(70)x8 Pendlay row 71.5(32.5)x5 93.5(42.5)x5 104.5(47.5)x5 126.5(57.5)x5 148.5(67.5)x3 110(50)x8 Close Dips x8,8,8 Biceps curls on oly bar 88(40)x8,8,7 Felt very strong in all exercises today, wrist hurt on the bench press and bicep curls, think i banged it when playing squash yesterday. My squat form is improving nicely and feeling more power throughout the whole movement. FUN FUN FUN

WED 1st august 07 squats 121(55)x5 148.5(67.5)x5 176(80)x5 176(80)x5 bag of pish, form seems to be improving Military press 88(40)x5 104.5(47.5)x5 121(55)x5 143(65)x5 easy Deads 236.5(107.5)x5 286(130)x5 330(150)x5 379.5(172.5)x5 these flew up, pretty darn easy, the music helped alot wideish grip Pullups 6,6,6 all really easy, do 7 reps each set next week Dec situps 25,25,25 last set was hard funnn wooo

Friday 3rd august 2007 Trained at fitness first today as i got hold of a free pass! WHAT A BAG OF SH!T. In all the time i was there not one person touched a barbell apart from me, only 2 people touched dumbells and it was fairly busy. Couldnt be botherd standing around so each set had less than a min rest, typically the time it takes to change the weight. wow just came in to write down a workout and im on page 5 :o, i only last did it on monday! Wed 8th august 2007 Squats 121(55)x5 154(70)x5 181.5(82.5)x5 181.5(82.5)x5 Military press 88(40)x5 110(50)x5 126.5(57.5)x5 143(65)x6 did an extra rep as the weight was supposed to be higher than last week but smallest increment is 2.5kgs, last rep was fairly hard but i whizzed through so that could have been a factor Deadlift 242(110)x5 felt suprisingly heavy 291.5(132.5)x5 341(155)x5 390.5(177.5)x5 Got well psyched up for this set, some snot even flew outta my nose! Went up fast and pretty darn easy Wideish grip pullups 8,8,7 Not much rest between sets, get 8,8,8 next week Dec situps x25,25,25 FUNnnnnnnnnnn

Just noticed this journal, i'm always interested in the 'poundages' and people training for strength. Seems like you're making steady progress in creeping up with the weights. On a side note, do you feel that bulking up to possibly compete at 100k would help?

Weight wise the routine starts off easy so up2 this point its been relatively plain sailing. Weeks 5 and 6 (in week 3 now) are going to be challenging!

In terms of competing i think what you need to look at is would you really lose much strength dropping a little bodyweight and compare that to what you are likely to gain strength wise by upping your bodyweight. That could help decided which weight category you'd have the best chance in. PS. I've never done comps, the above is simply my views on it.

cheers for input noname, i think 90kg is too light for me would be hard to stick to the weight.
