180x1 WAHOOOOOOOOo, didnt feel too hard either, form not perfect but a huge improvemend, video! i recon 190 in comp for sure

100x3,3,3 Felt good but harsh on the traps

Saw that you had doubled you bw in 4 years from another post so clicked on your sig to see your training etc. What do people that know you think of doubleing yourself lol?

Good vids. Your mate got more than he was expecting in the 180kg squat .

160x1 Form went abit crap, but still not bad, and felt comfy enough

Highbar, narrow stance atg beltless squats

110x3,3,3 Felt nice, all reps paused at the bottom

Then later i got pursuaded to do boxercise as the class was pretty empty, and jesus christ im FOOKED. 5am wakeup plus squats plus boxercise an hour later is not good, weighed in at 112 clothes with abit of food in me too so i probs need the cardio anyway!

Im knackered now. out for dinner and im going to have **** loads!

]Comp write up

13 April 2008!

GPC Qualifier



Saturday 12th - Weighed around the 112 - 113 mark so got 4-6lbs to loose if i wanna lift in the 110s!
Went to work and limited water intake to 2 pints the whole day, basically a fith of usual and didnt eat that much no chicken at work :|
Got home at 9pm and felt pretty thirsty, my face was real hot and lips tingling abit so just sipped some water and went to bed for 10:30, couldn't sleep untill 11:30ish then woke at 2:30 for about half an hour at which i had a piss so treated myself to some water :D Woke up at 7am, ate some cold chicken and mixed about 300ml of water with oats and ate them! set off at 7:30. Picked up my mates and got at the gym for 9:50 opps. Weighed in at 17 stone 3 and abit lbs so i just managed to get in the 110s! woo. Looked at the guys and though what the hell, they looked miiiiiiiiiles bigger than me! I looked like a long distance runner compared to Matt! Met some of the guys, all proper sound! Straight after weigh in downed 2 bottles of lucozade caffeine thing which tastes like SH1T! big mistake as i couldnt manage much of my rice and chicken after that so had to rely on chewee and tracker bars lol.


SQUATS

20x5, 60x3, 100x1 (monolift), 140x2

OPENER 160x1 Felt real easy
2ND LIFT 180x1 Felt pretty good, got vid when my mate sends it me. Ref told me im wasting energy going too low and that i descent too fast!
3RD LIFT 190xf Fell forward abit, got vid! really should have got it but ohh well

Bench

20x6, 60x3, 100x2,

OPENER 115x1 Real easy, vid
2ND LIFT 125x1 My left arm felt abit funny and didnt follow the line of travel i wanted, comfy lift though! vid
3RD LIFT 130xf Not sure what happened, got a vid anyway so you can see like rest need mate to send um me!

Deads

20x6, 60x5, 100x3, 140x2, 180x1

OPENER 220x1 Took my breathe away abit, not sure why :S

3RD LIFT 250xf ARGHHHHHHHh, got a vid ill get it tomoorrow, but basically had nothing left trid to pull and nothing happened so i perseviered hips flew up, bar came off floor got to the knees and nothing left



2 and a half hour drive home! had to drop mates off in certain order! PROPER HUNGRY, not eaten anything proper since 7am and its now 5:30pm. Got home stuffed my face proper. chicken and rice (loads) hour later big sunday dinner, hour later 4 double cheese burgers from mcds and im going to have some milk and some other stuff later. fell asleep on the bird and had a nap as i was absolutely fooked!


Great to meet everyone, Matt is a right fella, unlucky today but seriously impressive strength! his bro jason put up some crazy numbers and another top bloke. Rich ellis another top bloke and stupidly strong! Quick chat with andy littler and mark clegg.

Mint day thanks to everyone esp matt for making me go!

I'm looking at post grad course and Sheffield Hallam has come up quite a few times for some stuff i'm looking at (Sports related courses mainly)

Any idea what the facilities are like for that department? Whats the area like as well, good gyms?

Have you decided what you're doing after your undergrad yet?

to be honest i dont like hallam and wouldnt reccomend it judging from my course but i hear that the sports modules and facilities are pretty good however im not certain.

I might do dietetics at shef uni depending if i can get sponsership as its alooooooot of mullah

Was this your first comp? How do you feel you did in comparison with what you can usually lift?

Any chance of the other vids? That Rich Ellis 270kg deadlift Opener(!) was ridiculously easy.

Holy smokes ive pulled my hamstring! severe pain, never felt anything like this before. Had to sit down for a while, sweating like crazy. seriously not good! managed to get my belt off and pack my bag, hobbled to my car and could hardly change gear, got home and just sat down for a couple of hours. The pain has subsided now but hurts when i walk. Guess it will heal itself but no more squatting untill friday at the earliest!
