CJWs Journal-Packing on the muscle - 06 August 2007 22:23
Well, I thought I may as well have a pop at this lark as well. A bit about me first of all. I am 20 and a University student. I have been pumping iron for around a year or so now, but have started working on the diet and training properly (or attempting to ) for the past 6 months or so. Number of reasons for starting this; bit of guidance, have found those of others motivating (and hope mine could have the same affect on somebody else) and I have a spare hour or so with nothing to do, so why the beejebies not.

Have spent the past couple of weeks cutting and am now down to just over 12stone at 5ft 10. 2 months ago I was 14 stone and when I came back from holiday I had dropped to 13 and half stone, so I feel I have made reasonable progress, though whether the weight loss has been too rapid and I have lost muscle as well as bodyfat is something I am a trifle unsure of, but it has been the first time, so I will learn from this.

Here was my plan for today :

Wake 0700 - 35 minutes cardio with some Epehedrein and caffeine

Return and wash the filth and grease from my body

7 :4040g Whey, 2slices of wholegrain bread and some green tea

10 :30 : 35g of Whey and some fish oil capsules

11 :00 Ephedra and caffeine

12 :30 :turkey breast and some salad with some water and green tea

15 :30 : 35g of protein and apple

16 :00 EC

17 :30 : 40g of whey after work out (Back and biceps today- glorious session working in the midst of England rugby- one step closer to retaining the title after their ritual humiliation of the Taffys )

19 :00 : 200g of tuna and 2 bread and green tea

21 :30 : 20 g of protein and some nuts and some low fat natual yoghurt

Not sure what else to put into my journal, or indeed whether I should bother. I will update this regularly and try and get to 50 posts so I can upload some pictures of myself, as is the general trend on here.

Hope this is a sufficient start. Off to treat myself to some yoghurt and nuts and a drop of protein now.

:)

RE: CJWs Journal - 08 August 2007 20:52
Well another day and another session to report. Worked chest and deltoids today (moved triceps to later in the week after feeling I wasn't getting enough growth with them on this day, and moved shoulders to replace them )

Find that on a cutting diet it is harder to knock out the larger weights, but then the size of the weight is not so much the worry these days, more the stres I put on the muscle.

Did 35kg dumbells for 3 sets of 8 on an incline and then some very wide chest dips with 12.5kg- concentrated on slowly lowering my body and not locking my arms out at the top- savage burn after this which was always nice.
Did some chest flyes which were average and then moved acorss to some cable flyes which I always enjoy. Finished those with some impeccable form if I may say so myself, and was delighted to see the veins bulging in my hands, forearms and biceps. Not sure what bodyfat % I am really, but am able to see my abs pretty clearly and weighing around 78 kilos so feel pretty pleased about that.

Reflected on my progress over the past year which I find both a source of comfort and annoyance. I have managed to grow certainly, but if only I had learnt the tricks I now know and will continue to pick up (high protein, exercising the muscle more than the ego and all the others.. ). Still, I feel the gains I have made are commendable and intend to upload some pictures as soon as I am able to.
Looking forward to getting back to bulking in the enxt couple of weeks though, and this time doing it to gain less fat and more muscle. Will divulge some more information on this closer to the date... ;)

Think I may go fishing this weekend once more- caught a cracking trout on The weekend- very chuffed with I was and celebrated by a spot of skinny dipping. What a ****ing rascal I am.

Well, here is my second entry and it is a rather disjointed ramble, a stream of consciousness if you will, hopefully this one will attract some replies.

Have a good evenning all.

Thank you,

Chris

RE: CJWs Journal - 09 August 2007 18:36
Another day and the diet was pretty much as I expected. I do find I am in a bit of a grouchy mood using this EC stuff and low calories- nothing I like more than eating plenty of food and leaving the table thoroughly bloated. Still, it has to be done.
Did Legs and triceps today.

Squats:

15x60kg warmup

15x100kg

8x115

8x115

5x120

Then some of those leg extensions- concentrated on tensing at the top and holding, then slowly lowering- the burn is intense.
3 sets on the hamstrings and then some leg press work

Coated in sweat by now and am pleased with my cutting as my veins are pretty clear on my arms now after a session.

Close grip bench: 8x 60 for two sets
Dumbell extension, but struggle to get perfect form on these without holding my elbow straight with the other hand- anybody else have this problem?

Then did 10 reps on the tricep pushdown nice and slow then moved the weight up and did 3 more reps.

Pleased with my performance in there.

Incidentally saw Andrew Sheridan the England Rugby player, and whilst he is incredibly strong, his physique wasn't that impressive. A most curious business.

Well, that will be all for me today. Will be bulking within 4 weeks after a rest when I return to University for my final year. Should be a good craic- will be spending a fair bit of money on nights out again- I will not be drinking much myself but there will be lots of drunk ladies around!

I am currently considering running an Epistane cycle and will show the results on here if I do. Should be an experience either way, just need to really get a thorough understanding of it all before I take the plunge.

RE: CJWs Journal - 30 December 2007 19:06
Decided against Epi, I will stick to being natural I think.

Chest workout from earlier:

DB Incline Bench
15x 15kg
12x35kg
10x37.5
7x42.5
4x42.5

Guillotine press on 45degree incline- very slow

12x50kg
10x60
6x70

Wide grip dips

Bodyweight x10
BW and 15kg x8
BW and 20kg x8

Finished off with some dumbell flies and cable flies. Cable flies are one of my favourite exercises and you can really feel the pump after.

Have a good evening all.

Thank you Chris. I am still bulking at the moment, but going to start lowering carbs a little from the start of Feb and increasing fat intake a little for a few weeks. A bit of powerwalking etc and try to lose my fat over the couple of months in time for the summer. Hopefully this cut will be better than the last!

Hello Selector, I am at Uni in my final year, planning on taking the Law conversion course next. Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully I have put on some decent lean muscle over the past few months to show when I cut.

Thanx for popping in to my journal buddy.
You have a cracking body and a wicked foundation for only years worth of training.Wat sort of body are trying to acheive in the long term.
And dont worry about the ramblings...thats wat keeps a journal spicy.
Are you a big country music fan by the way?

Thank you Stef, I have probably been doing it about a year and a half now with decent nutrition and knowing what I am doing. I am just looking to add some more mass and then cut back down again to a similar level to these pictures taken during the summer. I am pleased so far with my bulk and have managed to increase in weight nicely and can just about see my top two abs in the morning.
A huge fan of country music. You can indentify with the lyrics and actually understand what they are saying which I like. Nice and relaxing as well. Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw I both like, Alabama and Confederate Railroad. I read you like Shania Twain, she is alright I suppose
