what do you mean mate, all the exercises i use now i believe are working.
what you referring to? if you mean the legs day, i simply lost the sheet i used to record weights!

wish i knew exactly. got admitted to hospital for it and a neurologist said its benign. so went back to docs who said its caused by the blood vessels in my brain going into spasm and got put onto beta blockers at the request of the hospital. they worked for a week or so and stopped, so apparently i will be seeing a specialist. though i did workout today and didnt get any major pains as usual. for now its a case of me finding what i can do to minimise it and work out what is causing it.
usually i like to feel psyched up and agressive, and those times i got major pain. today i kept it cool, slow deep breathing and its been fine. fingers crossed! btw, it actually started when i began the leg routine you suggested
also a note to my self, took tab 6 hours prior to session.

just a thought
would eliminating benching movements and the sort help ?

honestly? i dont think so.

i got the pain this morning having a poo and ive had it during sex. so i dont think its caused specifically by the exercises. it has been caused by squatting, deadlifts, benching and shoulder press. but to add to that, these are the exercises i do first on the respective days. so its likely that any manouver would cause it. and ive even got a headache before starting anything! for example the other week, i stood infront of the bar for deads and BAM, it was like a boulder smashed me in the back of the head!

what would be your suggestions though? its worth a shot i reckon, im getting anxious now about when is it gonna strike next.

can relate to headaches when pooing mate
especially when the b@stard doesn't come out

talk it over with the specialist

in the meanwhile not going so heavy in the gym (keeping blood pressure steadyish) might not be a bad idea

hope it all works out

cheers.
the beta blockers keep the pressure down i believe, at least they used to.
i found today that keeping my mind relaxed (rather than mentally psyching up) seemed to make a bit of a difference.

another bit of bad luck is our gym just replaced all the DBs with techno gym DBs. if you aint seen em, all the discs are the same size for a start. there is also some kind of spinny cover on the handle. but they feel heavy as **** because they are just not balanced right.

rather than it being like ||--|| they are more like ||||---||||. handle is wider and the weight is further from the centre! heard some other guys talking about it too so im not imagining it

Sorry to hear about the headaches and techno dumbells mate lol

Lifting a little lighter than usual seems a very good idea imo

Good weights shifted though, you're doing really well. Hope you get everything sorted!

the problem wth the DBs is they arnt balanced well so 20kg feels like 24kg for example!

give my self an issue a few weeks ago. was shoulder pressing some DBs and got a pain right in my shoulder but i kept going anyway. pain progressively got worse and now my shoulder clicks and pops and all sorts!

taking any joint supps mate?

just go light on the shoulder work for now IMO, get a different routine for shoulders like side raises with a lighter weight and do some prehab work. Theyll get hit anyway with most compounds like dips, benching and rowing i find.

just glucosamine?

try adding to that MSM and chondroitin as well as some Cod Liver Oil, get some pineapple in your diet too for your fruit as this should help as well

that and go to your local GP and get a referral to see a physio

in the acute stage, control the inflammation with ice and stuff
do not do any exercise that put you in any discomfort, shins, OH presses and the sort
ideally you'd want to limit the pressing work, keeping an eye on the ROM (shorten if any discomfort persists)
and plenty of rows (seated low cable row instead of the pulldowns)

do not do any direct RC work, i.e. the Cressey routine above
once beyond the pain stage, deal with correcting the problem
