Semi Pro Soccer player needs advice! - 22 August 2007 15:51
Hey All i am new to this site but need some advice

I am a semi pro soccer player but cant seem to find that extra fitness i need anymore - i get drained and tired on the pitch - i know i am carrying a few extra pounds and need to shed this but with the lack of energy i am finding it hard.

Can someone recommend a supplement - Ephadrine or the equivalent that can help?

Basically i need to know what is the best, what will get me fitter quicker and where can i buy this??

Im pretty sure ephadrine will be a banned substance at your level of play?

hard work will do it mate, no problem.
Have a clean diet, and plenty of hard conditioning when you can fit it aside your skillwork, Happy days.

Its legal in the US i believe - i used to play there as American and moved here about 5 years ago.

The Physio at the club said that they can perform tests whenever they want but its pretty simple because they let you know like 4 weeks before hand.

I was told EPH doesnt take long to leave your system and works really well hence the reason for asking?

Blake, I would jump straight on the eph as it could make you a little 'jumpy' and it's composure when you're getting tired which can win or lose games in the final 15min.

Have you tried taking a caffeine tab at half time? The MyProtein ones are 200mg I think so by the time it has been absorbed by your body you will be part way through the half so it should keep you 'up' until the end. I also think it is not a banned substance (not that anyone gets tested at semi-pro level that I've ever heard of).

ok thanks tashmed - but do you mean you would or wouldnt jump on the eph??

i havent tried anything yet to be honest and i spoke to one of the lads who's been there 4 years and he has never been tested so i guess its alright.

So you recommend Caffeine tabs - will they give me that extra boost to keep going and also help me get that little bit fitter?

Sorry typo. I wouldn't go straight to Eph.

See how you are on caffeine first. I would try taking it a half time, see how you react but make sure you know the doses you are taking as 200mg before the first half and 200mg at half time would probably have you awake for days!

I don't think caffeine can directly improve your fitness but it certainly will give you more energy and buzz allowing you to push yourself, and in turn this will improve your fitness. I certainly found this when doing cardio in the past but cannot comment in terms of football as I'm a keeper and don't really need more than a can of sugar free Red Bull before the match.

ok so here goes:

Firstly i try some 200mg of Caffeine to see how i do but i think i will buy some eph 25 as that contains 30mg eph, 120mg caffeine, 80mg Aspirin, 80mg Narnegin aswell.

Its my own fault because i havent done anything over the summer and look/feel totally off the pace on the pitch.

Like you said it'll give me more energy to push myself even further - i just dont want to stay awake all night and feel crap for days.

I am carrying a little extra than ever, and my football has slowed down. I will try the caffiene at half time tonight, or just before the game! I usually just live with some malto in juice before the game!

Let me know how it goes, then I might be able to recommend it to some of the more 'robust' members of our team !

Hi Yall

Just thought i'd let you all know that i have been taken eph on and off for about 10 months now

started taking them for games regularly and it massively improved my fitness and performance, I cut down when i felt some fitness coming back and back end of last season i won player of the month 3 times in my league.

I still have a load of eph and simply use it to train now and not in matches - only if i feel terrible and tired.

Just wanted to thank people for there advice - appreciate it!

Just sounds like you are not upto match fitness to me... shouldnt need to take eph to keep you going through a game, push yourself harding in training and you'll notice the difference in games, no need for the eph.

Where you from, what league are you playing in?
