Ok heres my 8 months progess pics.

Diet today wasn't great. I drank more alchohol than I was expecting last night. Went out with a fiver to make sure I only bought a pint and a shot but of the lads with us were buyings shots in double figures and giving them out to everyone.. Then went to a party at one of theres and the bought even more stuff. Find it hard to eat after a night out.

Tomorrow I will be eating alot.

first time i looked at your journal, looking good, good legs, wish i had legs like that at your age, think you need do bit more back work tho.

keep up the good work

Oooo.

A friend of mine, who is a guitarist has done live shows with/for Pro Green. His older brother spits with Pro green on a few of his songs to, name is Core. He spits third on the track "Upper Clapton Dance" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnLNwidPIvY&feature=related Wkd tune.

Eddy Hayes (the guitarist in my year) Listen to - 'Outlook's Bleak' & 'The way it is' (ft a girl in the year above me at school, good voice)
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=91841432

Core, his borther ^^ Hmm he took his best tunes off.. I'll maybe upload them onto youtube.

Kano came to my school (suprise) when he was just starting out and very much an underground artist. Was f'ing crazy.. He did P's and Q's and Typical Me. Still my favourate tunes of his to this day because of that performance.

Another completely random that artist that came once, Mario Wylans . Everyone knew someone famous was coming, people were like it must be Dizzee Rascal.. then mario wylans just runs out haha.

Big Dick - Thanks mate.

Xian - Ye he has some good tunes.

Iceman - haha ye. That bar was under £10 and was from Argos. Chin up/Pull up bar. You may want to pay a little bit more for a better one but there are a few to choose from.

Beefy - Yep will do!

Gota say good progress dude! First time i've checked your pics and I am jus wondering how u manage to stay so lean! nice work.

Good strength gains aswell, i rkn you will get 100kg bench in no time!!! You ever tried it for 1? When I went from 3x8 to 6x3 my final set on bench is up by nearly 20kg after two weeks so going from 5's down you could be looking at a nice increase if you decide to lower the reps further.

I will order my bench rack today and see how 85kg feels next week and then maybe push for 90. My best is only 75kg for 5x5. With a rack 80kg for 5x3 might be possable. With no spotter it's abit dangerous but I'm used to lugging heavy weights off my stomach so I won't be killed, well hope not anyway. I guess I could get my mum to spot me for a 1rm if shes in, as effectively she will only be lifting a few kg's if I fail as I will keep pushing.

As for staying lean. I guess alot of it will be down to genetics. I always eat clean, no junk ever. Drink very little now. If I find myself putting on bf like I noticed at the start of this will I will go on mini cut where I drop a few carbs and fats to get back down to normal. Might hinder my gains slightly but I'd rather be able to look in the mirror and always feel ok-good.

Hey mate

Your progress has been cracking and you have a good physique now.

Did you do conventional bulking and cutting cycles or have you continously bulked up until now?

How long has it taken you from the skinny pics on the front page to get to where you are?

Can your diet and routine which got you there be viewed in the journal?

Did you take any addition supps, test boosters aas, whatever?

Did you do any other sports during the bulking phase?

Darkershade:

-I have been bulking ever since I started lifting. However if I feel I have put on a little fat I lower the carbs slightly and don't eat any late on in the day.

-The latest pics are from 8-9 months or working out. I actualy started in June 2007 but had two months off down to an injury so I didn't count those two months of course.

-Yep, it can be. I started this journal in September 2007. I have never stuck to a strict routine nor have I just followed one of the well known ones, Bill star, Frankies, DC extreme, Westside for Skinny Bastards etc. I have always tried and tested what I think works best. I think too much you see. My basic routine when I was training for size was always built around push/pull/legs although I did change things round quite often. Giving shoulders their own day, mixing different muscles i trained with each other. I would plan my routine at the start of each week depending on what I did the previous week. Rep sceme would stay roughly the same, the odd exercise change etc. I now train for strength and have been on the routine you can see on this page for over a month now. Loving it but will be modifying it at the end of June when I join Muscleworks as I will have a wider range of equipment at my disposal. As for diet, there are quite alot of posts when I have noted my diet for that day if you skim through the journal. Nearer the end you will see more servings of whey.

- Yes:
Whey Protein - I take 6-8 servings of this a day.
Creatine - My favourate sup, I am one of those people that notices a big difference on this.
Omega caps - Lack of fish in my diet. I like fish, I eat fish, just not enough of it.
Multi vits
L-Leucine - Type of protein. Helps keep hold of muscle.

- I have done fighting sports on and off throughout my lifting. Ranging from 0-3 times a week. Currently not fighting as I need to concentrate on exams. Back to judo and maybe boxing when exams are over.

No you dont need any if your the food you eat can provide the amount of protein you require, jack must'nt get enough from foods so he takes shakes to help up his protein intake, i personally take 4 scoops daily, 2 scoops at a time with water.

I get enough from food Iceman (1-2g of protein per lb of my BW). I just like to consume alot more than I 'need'.

Very busy today but should hopfully have enough time for a PULL workout.

Np mate.

PULL

No bad. Was going to go for 20 chins but the bar was slipping from the wall so I had to keep regripping and doing slow reps instead of fast ones. Ok workout.

Deadlift:
65kg - 10
85kg - 10
95kg - 10
100kg - 3x5

Chins:
BW - 16
BW+10kg - 4x5

Single DB Rows: (Linking these more than any other row. When done with controll and little use of core muscles it can really isolate the whole of upper back.)
31.5kg - 4x8

BB curls:
30kg - 10,8,6,6

Grip Work

How are you doing the dips Jack? I've got a vision of you using two tables and you're dipping between the pair of them.

Ahhh I actualy vidded it today but just detailed it to make room for songs on my phone.

I do it between the kitchen table and a side table. The kitchen table is pretty week so I prop a chair up under it which holds it strong and stops it shaking as much. The tables are too low so I use press up bar things on each table and dip from them.

Well while I was fighting my main goal was size and so it was basically the same as when I wasn't fighting. I did more skipping though.
