I don't really know the difference, tried to jerk it and it went about halfway so I finished off by pushing it, surprised me that I managed it.

Home gym Concrete garage floor with some old primary school gym mats and some plywood to stand on for stability. Standing between the lawntractor/sofa and the power cage and lat pulldown.

Been up in Manchester for a couple of days and had to drive back today, so quite tired and a bit dehydrated.
All in kg

Dips to warm up 5 * BW - working on form and flexibility

Bench Press
10 * 20
8 * 60
5 * 120
5 * 120
5 * 120
5 * 120 - Yay!
5 * 120 - Woohoo!
8 * 80

Very happy to get that done at last. I took long breaks between sets, but they were all nice and clean, not bouncing around etc.

Bent-Over Barbell Rows
8 * 80
8 * 80 - Last 2 poor form
8 * 80 - Last 2 poor form

That'll do for tonight, getting late.

Ta

Decided to try and check my squatting max today seeing as Ken was.

Squats
2 * 100 - Warm up
2 * 140 - Warm up
1 * 160 - Good form and depth, quite comfortable actually
0 * 180 - Caught the bar on the left side on the catcher and it all went to pot
1 * 170 - PB Unsure of absolute depth as I was concentrating on balance and pushing hard, but I'm fairly sure it was good. Slight bend in back.

Fairly good, I think 180 will be achievable on a better day with improved technique. I was wearing trainers today and they really didn't like the weight, it was like squatting on jelly

Decline Situps
15 * BW+10
15 * BW+10
15 * BW+10

Feeling nice throughout

I hate it when that happens! though I usually do it benching.
good stuff nevertheless
180 will be yours soon, I feel it in my waters

Right two sessions to write up here. First was on Tuesday when I did a wide ranging blitz of my triceps
All in kg

Decline Bench
10 * 60
10 * 100
2 * 130 - Not too heavy, just slipping down as it's not a proper decline bench

Skull Crushers
12 * 48
10 * 53 - PB, tough
8 * 53

Put perhaps too much into these, not much left for everything else

Close Grip Bench Press
10 * 60
10 * 60
8 * 60 - Just, couldn't have done more

Dips
5 * BW+15 - Dirty
8 * BW - Dirty
5 * BW - Dirty

Did some plate overhead extensions with 15 kg for fun, didn't count how many but quite a lot.

DB Overhead Extension
10 * 11.25
8 * 11.25 - Getting wobbly, last couple of reps spotted on my right arm
5 * 11.25 - Wibble wobble

Skull Crushers
10 * 28 - Nice and slow
30 * 8 - Slow and paused, warm down

Triceps felt slightly sore after all that

Today's Session
DaKensta managed somehow to heft above his chest a weight equal in stature to my previous PB... this must not be tolerated, so with plenty of motivation I went on a mission!

Bench Press
5 * 60 - Barely noticed it
3 * 100 - Same
1 * 140 - Fairly tough, triceps were feeling very sore from Tuesday still
1 * 152.5 PB - Still plenty more to come, fast rep, I wanted to put some clear water between us too
1 * 155 PB - Just right

Given a fresher start I can see 157.5 being a distinct possibility, it's not really any heavier than 155 if I'm honest.

BRING IT ON!

Cheers guys.

180 kg squat will indeed fall soon, then perhaps I'll have a reason to buy a couple more 20 kg plates seeing as I only have 6 to play with at the moment.

Grumble Grumble

Decided to have a bit of a 1RM fest today to get it out of my system so I can concentrate on reps and form again for a bit. I didn't have the same drive I did the other day unfortunately, but I did have someone to help unrack the bar on bench press.

Bench Press
Decided to aim for 160 today and skip the 157.5 Current PB 155
8 * 60 - Warm up
3 * 100 - Warm up
1 * 140 - Warm up, felt quite heavy
*Bit of a rest/stretch/psych up*
160F - I got it most of the way up, about level with the rack, but didn't have the drive to finish it off. I don't think it's on the cards quite yet, so I'll come back to it in a month or so. Of course if justt or Dakensta manage it I'll be down there on a mission ASAP (and probably staple myself )
140 * 1 - Fully paused
150F - Tried fully paused but I didn't really have anything left by this point so it stopped about halfway up and then stapled me

Squat
Decided to aim for 180 today as it had felt okay when I tried before except for catching the bar. I set the horizontals 2" lower this time to make sure there wasn't a repeat performance. Wearing boots today as well so no squirming. Current PB 170
5 * 60
5 * 100
1 * 140
180F - Decent form, didn't collapse, just didn't have the strength or the heart to drive it up out of the hole. Quite disappointed

Deadlift
My back was feeling okay still as my form on squats had been good, so I thought why the hell not give deadlift a go. I haven't really done it since mid-December though so I wasn't expecting anything amazing. Current PB 3*220 or 5 * 215, take your pick.
5 * 100
5 * 140
1 * 170
1 * 200 - Felt okay
1 * 230 - PB! First time over 500lbs too, so quite happy. Form was good which makes a change, still not hitched.
240F - Really didn't happen here, I picked it up off the floor very slowly then felt a slight pain in my lower back so I dropped it. I think I would have got this in December, but lack of training meant no. Felt very dizzy immediately afterwards and my peripheral vision went shaky

So to summarise
I weigh 92 kg or so
155+230+170 = 555 kg total
End of year target is 600 kg still, so quite a way to go. Nice to be over 550 though!

Off with flu at the moment Hence no updates. I've been down to the gym a couple of times to play around e.g. 75 kg bench press * 15, but nothing worth writing about.

On the 'up' side I'm now about 88 kg... about 5 kg lighter than I was I'm not sure how much of the lost weight was fat though.

on a more serious note... as you train at home, and presumably alone, what happened after you stapled yourself with 150 last time?

Urgh, my right eye was pretty much welded shut this morning. Now about 87 kg

As for deadlifting... I get exhausted just standing up for long. Even surfing the net for an hour necessitates a lie down afterwards.

At home I have a power rack, so if stapled I can roll it down my chest until it's over my thighs and then extricate myself (dignity... what's that? )

Thanks for the well wishing, have to hope I get well soon as I don't get paid when sick at the moment as I'm on a daily rate.
