Absolutely cracking work mate. Look ten times better in the photos. I will be joining TIO's cutting competition and if I can come close to your results I will be happy.

Nice one mate

Thanks for the compliments mate, good to have you back.
I was thinking of joining Eddie's cutting for Summer thing but I've had enough of cutting for a bit, I'm quite keen to gain some strength and size back.

Tonights workout

Push

Incline BBBP 1 x 10 bar only, 1 x 5 60 kg, 5 x 5 85 kg
Seated OH Press (Smith Machine) 1 x 5 40 kg, 5 x 5 50 kg (weights on bar)
Tricep Dips 5 x 5 BW + 20 kg

Happy with that, all done with good form but this was right at the limit of what I can currently do for 5 x 5, weight increments will continue but will be smaller from here on
I'll go to 90 kg on Incline BBBP but will include a third warm up set at 80 kg - third set at 85 kg felt easier than the first due to being warmed up
Increase OH Press to 52.5 kg, smallest plates in the gym are 1.25 kg
Increase tricep dips to 22 kg but use DB

Good man, I am already looking forward to this cut actually, for the first time ever. The non drinking will obviously help it big time and this new challenge is going to help big time.

It should do mate, at least now you know that total abstinence is the only way for you.
If you can stop the beer and stick to the diet it should drop off very quickly, looking back to when I first started cutting I lost a stone in the first 3 weeks!

No problems here Colin, no sign of the booze rearing it's ugly head any time soon and diet has been very clean today.
Just wish I could say that about the previous 2 weeks because it's been sh*t since the end of the Shape Up
Have to say I'm lovin' this 5 x 5 though mate, I'm hurting in places I didn't even know I had!

LOL go find the "Beyond Failure " article in routines section AND then come back and talk to me about pain!

I read it mate and I'm not sure that has ever applied to me to be honest.
I wouldn't like my training to be something I hated but gave great results.

Tonights training

Pull

Deads 1 x 10 bar only, 1 x 5 60 kg, 1 x 5 100 kg, 5 x 5 125 kg
Bent Over BB Rows 1 x 5 60 kg, 5 x 5 80 kg
WG Chins 5 x 5 BW only
EZ Bar Curls 1 x 5 30 kg, 5 x 5 45 kg

Good workout, did everything I set out to do, I'm liking walking into the gym with every set and rep planned and no more.
Grip started to go on deads but managed to hang on for 5 x 5, decided I'm not going to use straps but concentrate on increasing grip strength instead, up to 130 kg next week
Rows ok, up to 85 kg next week
Still not overly happy with form on chins but since starting this routine I've gone to a slightly wider grip each week, slightly wider again next week
Curls ok up to 47.5 kg next week

Good session.

That's some heavy curls you'll be doing next week!

Cheers Sam

Problem is I find I have to swing it so much to get it up that I'm only safe in the gym late at night.

Just some cardio tonight

20 mins rowing
20 mins bike
10 mins incline walking

No strict regime just doing an hour or so whenever I can
Weight sessions are taking longer as I'm going heavier and resting more between sets so no cardio on weight days

Tonights workout

Legs

SLDL 1 x 10 bar only, 1 x 5 60 kg, 5 x 5 100 kg
Rope Crunches 3 x 12 30 kg
Squats (Smith Machine) 1 x 5 bar only, 1 x 5 40 kg, 1 x 5 80 kg, 5 x 5 100 kg (weights on bar)

SLDL's up 20 kg, Squats up 10 kg
Only planned to up them by 10 and 5 respectively so happy with that
I will up both to 105 kg next week but I don't expect 5 x 5 on the squat, tonight was hard (felt bloody good after though )

Cheers Malc

I don't think I'll be in your league any time soon but I'm walking like John Wayne again today.

As long as you don't head to the Saloon for a beer then John Wayne is alright with me.
