Cheers Nigel and thanks for stopping by. You look absolutely bloody amazing in your pic mate, if I can get half that by next summer I'll be happy. I'm planning my first proper cut in the new year and will need all the help and advice I can get.

Thanks for the compliment mate - I'm hoping to make some real improvements to my weakest parts over the next six months before I enter any more shows. You'll achieve what you want if you're patient, eat well (half the battle), stay focussed and train within your limits. Good luck, I'll keep an eye on your progress.

That's a very good point, there's been times when I think because some of my strength has come back quite quickly my tendons may be suffering. I'm eating quite a bit running up to the new year, mostly good but not all.

Just 30 mins swimming today. I'm still walking like John Wayne from Friday's leg session even though it was quite light. Eating lots and mostly well in the run up to the start of the new year cut but not always, I've re-discovered chocolate Weight has gone back up by a few pounds but I'm ok with it.

Hi Andy Thanks for stopping by. This first 6 months has been about experimentation with exercises, rep ranges and also diet. In many ways I'm still finding my feet as to what works and what doesn't. To try and answer your question, I would say strength is more important than size at the moment but only just.

It just seems like every other week something new hurts and not in the good way. I'll keep going though, I'm sure there will be a miracle cure for tendonitis soon

Cheers mate Thanks for the compliment. Some way to go yet but I look and feel a lot better than I did when I started 6 months ago. Just wish I had some before pics but you're not always keen on people taking your pic when you're 30% BF and your gut hangs over your trousers.

It's embarrasing to think about it now but 6 months ago I would be in pain sitting at my desk for too long with my stomach folded over, never again.

Hello mate, just had a read through everything. First off belated congratulations of the weight loss. My dad is of a similar age and has struggled with this for years, so I semi-understand how hard it can be. Your photo looks decent, you have a lot more mass than I imagined and you seem strong as an ox. Hope the back's alright fella, may drop in more often if you wouldnt mind? All the best, Chris

Cheers Chris, feel free to drop by any time you like mate. The back's fine mate, back to normal now after the slight hiccup. I've put a bit of weight on since the photo but it was expected so I'm ok with that, now at about 15 st. I'll be looking to diet down to about 13 st by April, watch this space...
