That's weird; just had a shower and got dressed and now I feel fine. I definitely have enough energy to squat now. I'm really not sure whether I need to have starchy carbs pre-WO or not; I'm really going off them. I'd much rather stick to a high fat, low carb diet (as in without starches), but it's probably not completely necessary, so I'll stick to having 50g oats with breakfast and will either have a banana with PWO or just whey PWO and starches PPWO....but I'm not happy about it .

also mate on the carb front have you tried sticking to rice? if your off carbs i think keep well away from bread, potatoes pasta. i have oats for breakfast and brown basmati rice ppwo and thats been it for over a month now. then oatcakes if i feel in need them. i know your off all starches but imo i have always found rice the best of the bunch, find it doesn't bloat or anything and is highly nutritious. 80 - 100g i have.

I actually do alright on potatoes as well mate, but I'm not going to touch bread for a while. I do like rice and it's probably my 2nd favourite carb source, but like I say I've gone off carbs completely. Unfortunately needs must and I've felt like absolute crap today for two reasons: 1. I roasted a chicken and took it out when it seemed cooked. It wasn't and I realize I ate some undercooked chicken. Just knowing that has made me feel queasy all day. 2. I felt so drained this morning, even though I had a good 9 hours sleep. There's no way I could have risen to 20 rep squats. I've had a bit of a carb up but now feel really tired as I don't tolerate carbs well so I can't bloody win lol! . At least this happened within a couple of days of trying to go without starches, so I've not wasted any time. I'm going straight back to what I was doing originally. I'm going to have oats for breakfast and a banana PWO and fruit throughout the day. I'll avoid starches completely on off days. This worked fine the last couple of weeks, so I'll just stick to this for the duration of my bulk I think . I don't know if it's a wise idea to do squats now; I feel so tired it's unreal. If it was any other exercise I'd force myself to go down, but I'm not sure if I can handle squats. I've got MMA tomorrow, so if I do them it will have to be in the morning.

Leg day today. Did some damn heavy squats: 87.5kg for 20 reps. Just fell on the floor afterwards; was absolutely fooked Also leg press, pullthroughs and calf raises. All very draining and I am now recuperating

New PB on the bench press today: 52.5kg for 5 reps. I know it's still weak, but it is improving

Hey guys Sorry I haven't replied, but I do still have sh*t loads of work n stuff to do (more exams to prepare for). I'm also transferring university at the end of this term (from Lancaster to Liverpool), so I'm well exited about that, but it means I have to sort that out as well. Can't complain though, I do far less work than anyone with a full time job, so I'm not complaining. Roots thanks a lot for your encouragement and support. I will be checking in your journal to see how you're doing. In regards to the carb situation, I've increased them by a large amount. My main problem was that I couldn't get a proper erection any more with carbs at the level they were at (you may have seen my thread in the diet section). I went from 60-70g starchy carbs a day to 140g a day and now I'm at around 260g today. My c0ck is my main priority atm. Girlfriend was here at the weekend and the little bastard wasn't as pleased to see her as he usually is . Wasn't a huge problem tho, just had to work around it. However, not gonna let it happen again. Also I think that the reason I put so much fat on last time was that I was just eating obscene amounts of food. While I am certain that my body is carb insensitive, I'm sure it can handle more than I was giving it a few weeks ago, so I'm following theiopener's advice and having around 100g for brekkie, 60g PWO and 100g PPWO (a piece of fruit with other meals too). Only started doing that a couple of days ago tho, so won't be able to tell you much on that for a while. Mainly eating oats and potatoes for my starchy carbs and I'm back on the dextrose PWO. Gains have been apparent but slow, though I think this may be because I lost my chance for newbie gains when dieting and then developing that eating disorder a while back. I know that my testosterone is measured at 21nmol, which is a bit below average, but is still in the normal range, so it shouldn't present a problem. Just loving training right now; even love squats! I was scared of them before (still did them), but cannot wait to get under that bar now. Currently working on a 5-day split. I find that if I work on anything lower I'm in the gym for far too long, so it's split up into: Day 1 - Legs Day 2 - shoulders Day 3 - back Day 4 - arms Day 5 - chest Haven't been training abs as much as I should, so need to figure out where to add them. May do them after cardio (which I sometimes do after workouts, but will be limiting when I start MMA again), or will add them onto the shorter workout, such as shoulders or arms. I'm thinking that if I train them 3x a week, I could do main abs on one day, lower abs another day and obliques on the third day. That sound like a good idea? To "the artist formerly known as Taekwondo Guy" I haven't been to MMA for a couple of weeks due to various reasons, but I'm gagging to get back to training and will be doing so on Saturday. I'm slightly less into it than I was tho, and have come to the conclusion that bodybuilding is far more important to me, but I'll still train like a demon in MMA. Riocat thanks for the support, I'll check in your journal some time soon. Eddie everything is ab fab with me, thanks for asking (well almost everything ). How you doin? Congrats on completing the shaepup comp. I think I lasted about two weeks . If anyone's wondering about my lifting, it's not too bad. Stats are: Deadlift 142.5kg for 5 reps Squat 110kg for 5 reps (so deep that I almost touch the floor) Bench 55kg for 5 reps Overhead press 40kg for 9 reps Leg press 210kg for 5 reps (deep, not shallow pu55y presses ) I need to seriously work on my bench, so I'm training it twice a week (one heavy, one light day). Strength is only secondary to me, but I've never seen anyone with a huge chest who benches 55kg, so want to get my strength up on this, although size is my main priority. I'll try and stop by as regularly as I can. Thanks for the look ins guys. Speak soon .

ORIGINAL: Riocat Hi mate, good update, glad to see your ok and training. Am on a 5 days split as well now, seems top be going ok, im the same as you when to fit abs in as my belly is rapidley taking over at the present time due to the bulk Thanks bredren. Yeah, I don't know how people manage to fit everything in to a 3 day split. I believe that your shoulders need a separate day, and I have no time to fit in biceps or triceps at the end of my workouts (would make them at least 90 mins), so I have to split it into 5 days. It takes me at least 60 mins to do 4 exercises if I'm lifting heavy. I'm trying to make my chest and lats grow, but the little bastards don't want to. I want to start doing chins, but I can't do them after deadlifts on back day cos I'm already f*cked by that point, and I don't want to do them first as my deadlifts may suffer. Dunno whether to do deadlifts and lats on a different day, as I see no reason why lats, middle back and lower back must all be worked on the same day. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears . Cheers Roots. Lifts are progressing quite nicely. The most reps I could get on overhead press (40kg) up until this week was 6, but I just attacked it with a passion this week and got 9 reps on my first set. I'll have to raise it next week (usually raise weight every week, but have been stuck on 40kg for ages). Starting to really love lifting now, but I'm really not gaining as much size as I'd like to, and I think my diet is pretty good.

Every 3 or 4 weeks I superset or drop set every body part to shock the muscle. Also change exercises up quite regularly as well .
