Right, after a few sessions last week to get back into things I have devised the new schedule, as follows:

Monday

Deadlift
Chins
Curls

Wednesday

Bench
Shoulder Press
Dips

Friday

Squats
Lunges
Calf Raises

Cardio will be covered by the 50 mins on the spin bike, Tues, Thurs, Sun, possibly some bagwork or a run on Sat.

Diet to be reviewed but for now just being sensible and training well and will see how it goes!

Current weight around 16st 5lbs, last year I got down to 14st 10lbs

Aiming to get down to 14st by end of June time, know it is a few pounds but think quite a bit will be water loss so hoping goes well!

Tomorrow will weigh in properly and update every Thursday morning!

Look forward to getting this journal on track - feel free to post any comments as I go along!!

Cheers

Struck down with Sciatica yet again

Could barely walk this morning so looks like deads and squats will be out again for the forseeable future...

If it doesn't rain it pours!!

Mate I'm sorry to hear that - are you going to do some leg presses in the meantime or just steer well clear?

Cheers mate, I train at home so only have access to a power rack and freeweights, when it starts getting better will prob start with lunges and then rebuild up yet again!

I just so annoying, cardio will take over in the meantime, this should at least see some decent weight loss, fingers crossed...

Also running 10k in October, not to biggest of miles but i'm not a runner so that should be interesting!

hi griff nice to see you back posting as well! really sorry to hear of your injury! fingers crossed with a bit of rest it will sort itself out, also, I bet christchurch is a nice change from poole (not that theres anything wrong with poole!) but I bet your tuesdays nights are a bit quieter!

Ive been thinking about changing routines for a bit as I want to be able to incorporate more cardio so Im going to nick your original routine you posted on page 1, did you patent it? I will of course give you the credit for it!

in your latest routine dated 16/4/08 on the monday are those chins overhand wide grip ones to hit the back or close under grip? the reasons i ask is that if think if there underhand you would need to say add in some bent over rows

cheers buddy

Likeing the routines Griff.
I too also like to keep things simple, just base your splits around compond movements and max 4 of exercises.
All the best with the weight loss and hope you get over the sciatica soon so you can get back into it.

Thanks mate.

Yep nice and simple is the way to go in my book.
Like to hit all the muscles with compounds in a short space of time.

Thanks for the post, looking forward to yet again getting back into it!

Hi guys

Well the sciatica seems to have sorted itself, popped on the spin bike for the first session of a planned many yesterday:

19/05/08
40 Mins Spin Bike

Total Distance: 21.8km (13.6 miles)

Average HR: 138 BPM (72% MHR)

Felt good though my saddle has to be the most painful in history!!

A planned early AM session is in the bag for tomorrow, not looking forward to the early start - but NO EXCUSES!!

Will weigh in tomorrow AM also.
