yeah i want to do things about 2-3 times a week but depends on work hours. for now it will be thai, then weights on monday. thai then weights on tuesday, then just weights on friday as its sparring on fridays and i dont know enough to be doing all that yet. he does private hourly lessons during the days as well from 2pm so on my days off i might pop down there. letting my feet heal first though! blisters galore!

BJJ Running through side mount to mount positioning and breaking guard. sparring: 1st round was against a hooooge guy, he's been away for a few weeks but i havent forgotten him. Actually managed to tie him up , he couldnt pass my guard and he was working on stopping arm bars and triangles. Managed to get a triangle but the guys so damn big he just bent me in two and stopped me cutting the angle. 2nd round was against one of the vets who's been away for a while. I was working on getting out of his guard which i did so i passed to side mount... he tied me up pretty good. He later managed to get a guillotine full on round my neck and usually you have 5 seconds to get out or black out. I remembered the lesson one of the vets taught me by tripoding up, pushing your shoulder into theirs and then working on pulling your head out with your hands... it worked! Ahhhh anyone who has escaped a choke knows what the feeling is like when you get outta there. 3rd round was against one of the new guys, he's coming along well and more slippery (lightweight), swept him once or twice for mount but with no punches its a redundant position. Got a key lock off so i was happy. 4th round, pulled off a kimoura out of a seemingly stubborn position, he resisted it with all he had and i refused to go for something else Later on i got his back and sunk in a nice rear naked choke... all would of been fine, he would of drifted off and i would of got the tap. IF I HADNT OF CROSSED MY DAMN FEET! Because i crossed my feet he was able to pull off a foot crush by wrapping his foot over my feet... it seriously seriously sucks as your foot is bent the wrong way I tapped :angry9: He jumped up for frikin joy, he was that happy with tapping me out... gave him the respect for seeing it and pulling it off. I was pissed at myself for a while after. Gave my coach a lift home and he says the weight cats have been changed or something... either way he says i've made weight now and should ideally drop another 2lbs. ---------------------------------------------------------- 6:30am sauna steam room jacuzzi

missed wrestling training i was watching dragons den on Dave and i lost track of time, when i glanced at the clock it was too late to get there on time. sooooo..... off to the gym it was treadmill 3 x 5min rounds @ 11km/h 2 x 1 min 6km/h 'rests' the rest at 9-10km/h with a 1 x 15km/h sprint thrown in. all in all 25 mins, 4km x-trainer 15 mins, 6km got bored of this cross training lark as it wasnt raising my heart rate above 130, unless i went hell for leather. bike, 'Mount Kilymanjaro' setting (big pyramid really) 20 mins, 10.5km calories going from all the displays tallyed @ 950cals. weighed myself before hand and i'm 93kg, i'm spot on for my weight class (they've moved the weight groups) light heavy weight (not middle weight now) = 84kg-93kg -------------------------------------- judo tonight, looking to become a member so i can complete a grading at the end of february

there has been a lot of confusion over the weight cats, initially light heavy weight was 94-120kg, now its 84-93kg they have adopted the standard catagories thankfully. either way i'll be at the heaviest end of the group at 92-93kg

judo: worked on ippon seoinage most of the night, decent throw that allows you to follow up with an arm bar http://youtube.com/watch?v=UvaNBV-StDA ground work sparring rolled with a black belt and managed to sink on a triangle, unsure if he let me or because he was blind to it? When he was teaching me a guard pass he showed me a ridiculous method that would either place myself in a triangle or lose my arm to an arm bar. rolled with an orange belt and choked him out with a heard arm choke twice plus he gave his back for a rear naked choke. This club does not work on ground work much i feel, they are working more on pins. He ignored my advice on not leaving his arm up across his face twice Standing sparring rolled with a brown belt, he started off light trying to gain position but soon he became more forceful as i wasn't budging an inch. he went for a throw and i reveresed it and lumped him on his back in front of the black belts went with the green belt from last week and threw him a half dozen times. another green belt guy was more challenging and it ended up a draw, both threw each other once. last round was against another green belt but it was a 14 year old kid. Because i was wearing a white belt they thought my ass was theirs.... this kid flew in and everytime he ended on his back. Ippon seionage was pulled off as well so i was happy Felt like a big bully after.... Just because a guy wears a white belt, doesnt mean he knows nothing and should be ignored. spoke to a few guys that are into MMA and they are going to a local event by me, should be able to pick their brains over a beer.

Shoulders and arms have always been a good point for me cheers i dont find it hard to be honest as i dont really concentrate on it anymore, having 16.5" arms compared to the 18" ones i had last winter (2006) is no real sacrifice. I prefer the lighter more nimbler me that can pick up throw people down and choke them out without sounding like homer simpson

do it! Learn more than one martial art Get fit and active Feel more confident if things hit the proverbial fan and its almost like being in the army with the bonds you form with other fighters, you all look out for each other and support them when they have fights...nights out as a group are wicked too.

I used to do loads of martial arts as a kid, even competed. Then left it. Had a few sessions at MMA a few years ago and loved it. It's def something I'm considering taking up. Plus like you've said, it anything kicks off you know you can kick @ss!!
