That cookies doing your head in... everythings getting to me today. I went a bit giddy yesterday with motivation. I over-trained on my day off and I under-ate. Missed two meals and im feeling it today. Just ate 2 handfulls of mixed nuts after my meal I dont know why we have to have em in the house.

I haven't been posting diet latley because it's being pretty boring, which is a good thing, I know. Im thinking i should post eveything that passes my lips this week ...prehaps i'd have thought twice about eating those extra nuts!

Yeh its very difficult when you are dieting to have the wrong stuff in the house its hard to resist if your having a bad moment . I find it difficult having stuff in for my teenage kids like crisps, chocolate yoghurts, bacon and sausages etc could go on, but i think it gets easier when you get yourself into the mind set of the diet, once you get a few good diet days in a row it becomes easierto manage and then when you get nearer your comp date you become really focused, thats what i'm finding anyway. Dont dwell on the eating the nuts put it behind you start a new.
Also remeber to you must eat all your food everyday,
take care

STOP talking yourself out of things and stopping yourself from getting where you want to be by doing silly things like eating stuff you're not meant to

Rant over.

YOUR LOOK GREAT Honestly... I am very seldom in my words, if I don't have 'owt nice to say I just don't say anything and I am seriously impressed by your progress. Your arms are really taking some shape and your posing is fine. You have a very nice curvy shape (which having the same myself is what I like to see in a Figure girl), not a fan of those up and down ladies...

You've got work to do but wouldn't believe what you can do in 10 weeks. On the plus side, if you don't feel ready in that time, there's actually still 14 weeks to the last qualifier which is the BNBF Southern... Either way, keep going because you're doing brilliantly

Hey Cookie!! Well done on posting piccies! You look good too - just keep on with the hard work and you know you'll be fab some the day, and like you say, on the plus side, if you don't feel ready for the Manchester date, you can get tip-top and blow 'em away in the Southern like FLick suggested!! (If you decide Manchester stage isn't your show date, maybe you can keep me company in the audience, it'd be great to meet up, especially as James is sorting us both out for comps!!)

Anyway flower - looking good and with all the motivation and hard work you're onto a winner for Manchester, just don't talk yourself into a later show now, wait 'til nearer the time!! (I keep fretting about my first outing on 29th June - 7 1/2 weeks to go - aaarggh!!! lol).

BTW - now you've posted pics, I've got that feeling of added pressure to post mine , I'll think about it, might ask James if he'd mind taking a couple on Thursday when I see him??

Can see them properly this morning Cookie! Well done!

Keep at it - DONT GIVE IN! Eat clean, train hard and keep smiling! If I can get up there with my big butt, then so can anyone, but it is hard work and I'm not going to lie to you, it gets harder! But it is worth it!!!

Hi Donna. Well done on pics. Great improvement. I did say when you first came to the office about your waist! Keep up with the training.

Drew btw is moderator drewsky, great training advice and nice bloke, I'll remind James to ask about some interval training for you.

Hopefully see you both on Sunday

I am the best of self-destruction, that's why I rant when i see others doing it...

I have a really good friend who's got amazing and I meant seriously top class potential, but 2 weeks before she's due to compete she always ends up with 'a cold' or 'the flu' and will completely come off her diet and say she's not competing.

All that hard work down the pan then a week later she'll be like: "I am competing after all now, just gotta work a bit harder in my last week" -silly billy... I don't think you're that bad, but it's easy to pop a few naughty things in your mouth then say you can't compete because of it... Give it your all girl!

I have been discussing your cardio with Drew, Donna here's what we want you to do.

In the afternoon cardio session for 2 sessions per week only I'd like you to try some interval training. Try this tomorrow and report back:

5 mins steady state cardio
30 second high heart rate
120 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
90 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
60 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
120 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
90 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
60 second low intensity
30 second high heart rate
5 mins steady state
END

That will be hard - please try it and report back. Then we'll maybe try this again Monday. I need to know how you're recovering

True, it can be a right pain if you loose you place.

The most helpful thing I have found if using normal CV type bikes (as opposed to 'spin' bikes) is to print it out nice and large and place it on the shelf then just tick each set of one 'rest/recovery' phase plus one high intensity phase off as you go along in the following recovery phase. Remember not each change but sets of two.

This should stop you getting lost.

If you're using a 'spin' type bike another way is the 'umpire method' just have 7 counters (beads, marbles, pennies, frozen brussels sprouts - whatever!) in your hand or pocket and drop one every time you have done a high intensity interval. When you have none left warm down. For the rest periods you would just write 120, 90, 60, 30 on a piece of paper and try and stick it somewhere.

The scheme above is a good intro the whole HIIT thing and dependent upon how James feels you're doing he may ramp it up a bit, further to our chat we had today.

Good luck!

Cookie, am sure this type of interval training will get you ramped up and burning that fat my lovely!

May well be doing it myself between my two comps so I can join you in the 'dropping brussell sprouts out your pockets' method of counting!!!!

How are you doing today?
