Done my rowing

2000 meter in 7min 25 seconds.

First time I've done a quick session on the rower.... and I think I started off way too quick got to 1000 meters and was in a fair bit of pain... pace slowed down but still manage to get under my sub 8 min target

Nice time for 2K and a big improvement on an expected 8 mins. The 2K is very much about pacing it and not going out too fast

Right then hope you dont mind me joining the bandwagon on this.

Done a couple of the challanges over this weekend.

3 Mile run managed to get a time of 21 mins 07 seconds

Bleep Test ( Managed to do this in my local sports hall)
Level 11 Shuttle 2

Press ups: 54

Chin ups 14 Need to improve on that.

Might have a go at the 100 burpees challange sounds interesting and painfull

Cheers
Drew

About the plank hold position. I tried it and during the time my back gives a slight arch but my toes and forearm are still the only body parts supporting my weight from hitting the floor. With that said about the slight arch, is that ok? or need to have a straight back at all times?

did a 2,000m row just this morning, did 7:46 but the foot strap broke on my right foot just as I was coming for a sprint finish so may be inline for a beter time next time

does rowing cause anyone else's hamstrings to fill with lactic acid within seconds?

22 chins Mr Boar.

Too much bloody swinging on those first three reps. I will slow it down a little next week and hopfully won't swing at all.

Im Back! I finally broke the 7 minute barrier on the conept2000row with a time of 6.59! very close indeedee! I don't think i will be beating that time for a while...but you never know.

Also 8.57 for the 100 burpee challenge, my new favourite exercise! I was in shock at how hard this challenge is, its took me several attempts to get my time down to under 9 minutes. (my first time several weeks ago was a pathetic 11.38, i was exhausted after 30 burpees!).
Anyway special times they may not be, but i am happy with my progress so far.

Cheers

A 2000m row sub-7 is very special indeed - best I've ever done is 7:04. One day I hope to be brave enough to attempt it again

thanks sam. I know what you mean mate, i won't be brave enough to try and beat my time for a while now. I was stuck just above 7 minutes for a while, then went in fresh yesterday and just hammered it. After jubilation came the dizzyness, sickness, white hot lungs etc etc!!
P.S thats a damn fine marathon time mate, do you still have your training plan or was it down to lots of experience already?? its just that im doing the London marathon next year and with a time like yours i wouldn't mind getting a few pointers from yourself.

Not too much experience of marathons as such - it was only my second road marathon.

I had a fairly sound endurance base through triathlon, cycling etc. Didn't actually do a lot of running - probably only 2 or 3 runs a week. Did a few races in the build up - 10 milers, half marathons and a 20 miler around 3 weeks before - all good experience and helps you judge pace.

The main thing is to decide on your pace and stick to it no matter what happens - you will always feel great in the first half and lousy in the last 6 miles - fact!

E-mail me if you wany more specific advice.

Sam
