I will probably try the 3 mile run although i tend to get a bit bored sometimes if its on a machine. What about swimming? I am doing that a lot now - anyone else do it? possibly add lengths or something?

swimming is a good idea, maybe a timed half mile, it's only, what, 32 lengths?

you sound like a regular crossfitter now Boar! I don't think I could survive any of those challenges, which is why I am soon to add crossfit/gpp work to my routine.

Magic 50

10x DB snatches (5 per arm)
10x DB swings (5 per arm)
10x burpees
maximum of 60secs rest

Repeat 5x

aahhh, i think daz (mook) does these , what sort of weight ? 10/15kg and the snatch - does it resemble a clean i.e from the floor to shoulder height or a traditional snatch - from the floor to above the head in one movement ?

Weight should be based on the individuals strength I guess, to make it more fair.

I used @ 30kg for snatch and 20kg for swings, changes depending on what stage I am at in my training. I would probably start off with a single 20kg DB for both.

Snatch usually from a hang position - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57pv_1j4dH0 at 00:15 secs

Or an alternative grip like this noob http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaejpTMtgiw

Good sticky.
In fact its boarsome

I'm not sure about that mapmyrun calculator though
...it seems to be a bit harsh

Does it take into account up and down kerbs and swerving lumps of dogsh!t though?

Will definitely be posting a rowing time as soon as I get access to a Concept2 and will build up to the 3-miler when I've worked out a nice flat one. Is it possible to do a distance covered in Xmin on a stationary bike since everyone uses them, or will the difference in bike make a big impact on results? I guess you could always add a time for Xmile cycle in the real world via the mapmyrun anyway.

Quality idea Boar! Although I won't be particpating in the near future. I could give old times in but they'd only be accurate to the nearist min or bleep level!!!

Ok, these are all from when I was a good 10 years younger, and a lot fitter....

3 mile run - 19.50
20 metre shuttle - level 7 (ahem, i was rubbish at it!!)
100 burpies - we never did the press up side of it, so wouldn't count
2k on rower - 7.19 (I was the worst in my year by a good way )
Press ups in 1 minute - 60+

If I were to do it today, I'd guess...

3 mile run - 22+
20 metre shuttle - level 4
100 burpies - dunno
2k on rower - 8.50 followed by mucho
Press ups in 1 minute - 35+

Will do the burpies and press ups one evening and find out though.

Nice idea for a league table
