Nice workout Dan

How do you like those romanians?

Cheers

Yes, they feel quite good. Just have to remember that it's the hips doing most of the work, not the lower back - I get some pretty uncomfortable back pumps after these, unless that's normal?

Thanks Adam

I wouldn't say they're easier, just different. Some lifters are simply more suited to them due to their body type eg. long legs and short arms. They're a bit more leg and hip dominant too as you're more upright to begin with. The back just plays more of a stabiliser role than with conventional deads

Nice session. Went really well despite not going to bed until 3am!

The big 100kg next week

Ate quite a bit of chocolate yesterday. My friend came over with a big Lintz easter egg she'd won at work but she hates that kind of chocolate, so she gave it to me

Today's song - 'Whip It' by Devo:

*What* are they wearing?!

Not sure, I haven't weighed myself for a looooong time

Might do it tomorrow morning before breakfast, don't think I'm going to like what the scales say though

Weds 26th March 2008

DEADLIFT

51kg x10
71kg x5
91kg x5
101kg x3

^warm-up

114kg x5
114kg x5
114kg x5
114kg x5
114kg x5

*Hamstring stretches prior to each set*

BENT OVER ROWS

51kg x10
71kg x10

^warm-up

96kg x8
96kg x9
96kg x8

BARBELL CURLS

44kg x10

Good session, sumo deadlifts still feel quite easy - felt like I could've gone on to do 10 reps each set

Not much to add really other than updates may be a bit sporadic for a while as my laptop at home has broken and I'm having to use the net at the library

I think the power pack's broken. Tried changing the fuse but made no difference

Yes, me too, really getting into them now

Al - form on curls is strict-ish... last couple of reps on the last set involves a bit of cheating though

Ok managed to get the laptop working with the old power pack - I've discovered that if you whack it against the wall it makes it work for a bit I love technology sometimes

The new one should arrive in the next day or so, according to the computer man when I called him earlier

it's a bit of a sore point to be honest fella, feel well and truly fooked off with it, especially as i have popped into a few member journals who have a lot more, and worse banter in then mine did

i am yet to email james, and if i do it will just be to get him to put a message at the bottom thanking everyone for their comments, views, time, etc
theres 10 months of weights in that journal, which means on a rough guess not far off 260 hours of lifting
now it seems that my posts get locked as well without an explanation so pondering defecting, or popping up elsewhere

if i do the latter i shall keep my nose in here occasionally and maybe post comments via email
if i do the former, good luck with the training boss

Finally got a new laptop power pack, so normal service resumes!

Went to an interesting gig last night that an acquaintance of mine put on, the bands were as follows:

Sky:Lark - local band, mid-paced hardcore. Reminded me a bit in places of Thoughts of Ionesco (doubt anyone's ever heard of them though). Not bad despite their set being plagued with technical problems

Captain Blood Blood and the Sea Dogs - group of oddballs playing sea shanties. The drummer was playing what looked like a toy drumkit Bit weird but I liked 'em

Thomas Truax - American guy who makes his own instruments. One of them was a gramophone horn with some strings on it that makes these really strange sounds, which he shouts into. Looked a bit like Dylan Moran too

Bizarre assortment of bands, but quite a fun night

Have got the last few workouts to type up, will do so in a minute
