S4!NT. a diary to the first comp - 16 February 2008 12:04
Im not so new anymore. I was here last year and a few people will remember me (HI ). I git fantastic resuls and was really pleased with my progress and the comments I recieved. This time around I will be competing as will my wife (cookie - yes I am "Mr dough"). I am a good trainer and do pretty well in the gym, however it is hard to be objective and I am not sure if I am pushing myself hard enough, I mean really hard enough! I would appreciate the objectivity of the muscletalk community to scrutinise my training. The nutrition is taken care of by the moghty james Collier and it looks like this:

Wake - 30g whey in water

Breakfast (half hour later) - 60g oats in skimmed milk, 1 tsp sugar and 200ml of fresh fruit juice

mid morning - progen and 1 fruit

mid afternoon - 120 g chicken or fish in a wholemeal pitta with plenty of salad and 1 fruit

---------------------WORKOUT-------------------------------

postworkout - 40g whey in water

evening meal - 120g chicken or whitefish with 40g basmati or Wholeweat pasta or medium sweet potato or 4-5 small boiled new potatoes loads of green veg and 1 low fat probiotic ypghurt. all washed down with a tall drink (water/squash)

800pm 200g cottage cheese or 100g makerel fillet, 1 item of fruit and an handful of mixed seeds/nuts.

bedtime - 30g whey in skimmed milk.

at the moment I am 106kg in weight and am about 181cm tall. around my waist I have about 11mm of bodyfat i guess that equates to about 12-13% bodyfat (accumeasure body calliper test [thanks again flick ]. However, my Tanner scales argue I am at about 30%.

I will update this first post with an embarrasing photoof myself and somelameexcuse for my condition.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[image][/image]

Now for the lame excuse - new job (teaching in a new school) lack of time and winter-blues etc, etc, etc...

Hey wasup Adam. Nice to see you have stuck at it (unlike me). I will check in on your progress soon mate

NUTRITION

6:00 - 30g whey in water

6:30 - (half hour later) - 60g oats in skimmed milk, 1 tsp sugar and 200ml of fresh fruit juice

10:30 - progen and an apple (apple was not as crunchy as I would have liked )

12:30 - 120g chicken in a wholemeal pitta with plenty of salad and 1 fruit

3:00 - 120g of chicken in an wholemeal pitta and a small banana

---------------------WORKOUT-------------------------------

6:00 - postworkout - 40g whey in water

6:30 - 120g chicken and a small piece of yam and potato with a mix of lightly steamed green veg and 1 low fat probiotic yoghurt. all washed down with a tall drink of sqaush

8:00 100g makerel fillet, with mixed green salad leaves.

10:30 - 30g whey in skimmed milk.

I have not got a strickt training routine yet but continue to train 6 days a week (4 days weights and 2 days cardio) 2 body parts per session. today i did this (weights include bar):

Flat Bench Press
12x90kgs
10x100kgs
8x110kgs
4x120kgs (wanted to do 6 but didnot want to risk it without a spotter)

Declined Smith machine Bench Press (I assume the bar weighs nothing)
12x70
10x80
8x90
6x100

Barbell Clean and press
12x30
10x35
10x40

Seated overhead dumbbell press
12x24
10x26
8x28
----------------------------------------------------

Good session. However my traps, lats, triceps and quads were still sore from previous training. I really feel I should get a trainer There is a monster inside me somewhere I just need someone who knows how to spot and encourage (without being annoyig and unnecessary) to get those extra reps out GGGGGRRRRR

Hello again mate.

Just wanted to say that for someone who has not been long back into it, 120k x4 on bench press it pretty damned good!

What comp do you have lined up, if you don't mind me asking?
Feel the fear, and do it anyway!

RE: S4!NT. a diary to the first comp - 27 February 2008 06:54
Hi Hazel, congratson being the latest mod'. I was considering renaming my journal to Mr Doughs....

Wassup Jay, I live and train in Sutton Coldfield (West Midlands). I have no idea what I will peak at or how to work it out. I always thought limitations were an internal barrier to be overcome by a good training partner (but come to think about it everyone must have a limit or peak - again I have no idea).

ElfinTan, nice of you to drop in, just finnished my breakie and am ready for another day at the open assylum (secodary schools eh). We are trying to work together on this (Team A and all that jazz - [MT consensus has us down as "Team Dough"]). We plan to come to the meet on Saturday, see you [in real life] there.

Woke up with soreness continuing in the traps and quads, Yay, even some doms in the chest [I worked hard enough and deserve some form of confirmation of hypertrophy [i think thats how its spelt] and the soreness in my chest, although relativly mild, satisfies me. Today will be back and abs (looking forwards to it, even though I will be attending the gym late as I have a meeting with my financial advisor.

I also feel pleased withmyself as when I went into ASDA yesterday I resisted the urge to buy jaffa cakes and picNmix.

NUTRITION

6:00 - 30g whey in water

6:30 - (half hour later) - 60g oats in skimmed milk, 1 tsp sugar and 200ml of fresh juice.
