Thanks for that. Very kind of you to notice.
I've been considering doing the rowing one but I know how hard it will be so am shying away from it.
I did the plank the other day but it hasn't been updated yet with my time

A real test would be to do one after the other!!

I did a timed fitness challenge earlier this year, it started with a 1.5k bike, 500m row level 6, 60 hip flexor, 50 pressups, 80 step ups with 10kg dbs, 60 sit ups, 40 shoulder press with 10kg dbs, 800m run on a 10% incline and finished with bench press 24kg x 30.
It was a killer. I was going fine until the run, it really zapped all my energy, doing the step ups before didn't help.
It felt great to do it though I really enjoyed it (after)

If you fancy doing the Rowing challenge, there's a Concept 2 website where you can rank your time against others around the World in the same age group, sex, weight etc. as you. Looking at your other achievemnets you might compare pretty well

Sam (once ranked 4th in the World for lightweight, over 40 men 2000m Row )

Unable to get to the pool on Monday as planned so no swimming practise apart from lesson.
Hard spin on Monday but really enjoyed it this week for some reason.
Tuesday boxercise class was good a bit more structured than of late so some good teaching points learnt.
Wednesday the dreaded swimming lesson! It was front crawl this week with tumble turns
I've only just learnt to do the crawl and find it really hard to get the breathing right so it's a big enough ask to get me to manage two lengths (in the teaching pool mind) of fc without having the turns at the end. But the teach wanted 4!
We had to practise the turns first but I managed to hit my foot on the wall and then my head on the bottom. I was rubbish! I kept saying I hate swimming to myself which wasn't helpful.
I felt really low at the end of the lesson as if I'd failed again
BUT I got back in the main pool after and swam really slowly 11/2 lengths of crawl which when thinking about it later was more than I could do before I started the lessons so I suppose I've achieved something if not a rather pathetic something.

Gym last night - Hoorah dry land

Leg curl: 39kg 3x8
Calf Raises: 220lb 3x20
Leg Extension: 43kg 2x8 / 48kg 1x8
WGC: Assist 15 3x8 (hard at end)
Lunges: 15kg(DB) 3x8
DB Pullover: 15kg 1x8 / 20kg 3x8
SA Row: 15kg 1x8 / 22.5kg 3x8
Biceps: 10kg 3x8
Abs weighted
Pressups: 53 timed for 1 minute.

Really pleased with my pressups has made up for my poor swimming abilities

Puss, good for you in continuing with the swimming - it sounds like torture to be honest!

Have always wanted to be one of those goddess type girls who can dive gracefully into the water and then swim effortlessly across the pool, half of it under the water, emerging the other end with their eye make up still in place!

To improve. I can swim already but not with any style. I want to learn to swim the front crawl.
Not sure I would ever be good enough to compete!

Went swimming yesterday! After taking some advice from some of you I used a pool bouy, didn't breathe out so much under water, breathed on left side only.

It went ok surprisingly
Still found it hard but actually swam two lengths in one go.
Practised for a good half hour so hopefully lesson on Wed will be better.

Did a spinning class later on which I enjoyed.
Don't feel particularly tired but people keep telling me I look it which doesn't make you feel great.

You got some good swim tips there Puss! Can never get the breathing right, which is kind of important in the pool!

I hate it when people tell me I look 'tired', what they mean usually is 'thin', which I am most definitely not, leaner maybe, but not thin! Think it's time to look out the old Touche Eclat again!

I can;'t move my head side to side when I do the crawl, I just hold my breath and go for as long as I can . I used to be able to do the whole length like this when I was a kid. I'm now one of those crap women swimmers who hog the lane up and only do breast stroke with head permanently above the water , hence why I don't do swimming

Swimming Lesson last night!!!!!
We had to do a timed swim which meant for 20 mins we were swimming non stop any stroke. We did a class at the beginning of term like this and the target was to beat the previous score. Last time I swam breast stroke and managed 22 lengths (of the small pool)
I really wanted to swim all crawl this time. I thought I could swim slowly and manage a few. I did 3.
I decided after 3 lengths of crawl that I was hating every minute, I wasn't getting any better and I needed a rest. I was really disappointed with myself and carried on with breast stroke. At least I was getting a workout!
I managed 26 lengths in the end which was an improvement and was probably a better style than previously. So a small positive.
Last lesson next week is in the main pool which should be interesting.
Gym tonight, much more my scene
