I know TT!! I'm still stunned and so pleased!! . Been grinning like a cheshire cat each time I think about it! Had a really good workout too this afternoon and updated some of the guys there after yesterday's meeting. A couple of them were saying, told you - didn't believe us though did you?! Oops! lol.

Feels good to know that I really have made progress and not that I've just convinced myself that I must've done! Totally buzzing now I tell you!

Had a day off work today which I sooo needed, had a hair appointment at 8 this morning and I've done a few jobs around the house and done shopping before I went training and it's been a really good day! Feel tons better already for just having a single day off (plus half a day yesterday!).

Diet - same as ever today! Training: 65 mins cardio pre-brekkie.

Weights: Shoulders & Calves (Odd split, but there you go!)

Shoulders:

DB Press x 4
12 x 10kgs, 12.5kgs
10 x 15kgs
5 x 17.5kgs (disappointed on that one really - some weeks they're ok and I can get 8, others I'm just useless! Still 5 is better that 4 etc! ).

Lat Raise x 3
12 x 7.5kgs
12 x 10kgs x 2! (Could see my wee li'l veins waving after these - fab!! he,he!).

Bent over lat raise x 3
12 x 7.5kgs x 3

Cable Lat Raises x 3
12 x 1 plate on stack (feel like a wimp! Works though!!)
12 x 2 plates
Dropped back down to 1 plate for the next 12 (shoulders were burning!! Fun though!!)

Calves x 5
Joined in with one of the lads on the standing calf raise m'ch, sorry, but I wasn't going to be out done (well, I was on one set!! )

15 x 60kgs (warm up)
15 x 67.5kgs
15 x 100.5kgs (They go up in funny measures on this one - goodness knows why?!)

Last 2 sets:
15 x 112.5kgs

Got the giggles after this as 1, I almost managed to keep up with him and 2, because we were both in agony! I couldn't face the last set on the weight he had it on - didn't even try, it was 129.5kgs - too scary!! Think I'll be wearing 5 inch heels tomorrow just so that I can walk straight, thing was, he agreed he'd be doing the same!! pmsl! We'll see, I'll let you know how I hobble on tomorrow!!

Nikkie you sound as if all is going right on track. As for James' 'compliments' they just reflect the hard work that YOU have put in. I don't know James at all but one thing I have figured is that he just aint the 'compliment' kind of guy what he was telling you was an honest opinion of where you are at now. Well done!

Thanks Tan. Funny though how you see yourself and then compare it to how someone else sees you - bit of a surprise really!! . I was worried he'd be disappointed and that I'd have much more work to do than he said. I know my legs are my weakness, too much flab and not enough calves!

I was actually thinking of you earlier - nothing weird, promise!! It's just that as part of the chat with James, he suggested I might think about having some massage to help bring about some separation in my legs. Is that something that you would know about and how it works, where to go - other than to yourself of course, which I think would be a scream (in the sense of painful and a laugh!). Didn't know if you knew of anyone down this way a bit, James suggested someone he knows in Peterborough. Any thoughts? Cheers!

You need a sports massage there, and they're not that pleasant but they do work

Yup Kitty is right. And she is also right in that they are not the most pleasant of experiences especially on your legs. A massage helps to give your lymphatic drainage system a boot up the bum and rid it of excess fluid. = more definition. I'd recommend anyone getting ready for a show to have massages before and after. Your body is under quite a bit of stress at the mo and the last thing you want is any kind of injury....remember prevention is better than cure. I'm afraid I don't know anyone down your way so go off James' recommendation!

I knew you were all going to say that!! . I've been told they're nay fun but worth it!! There is a guy who does this who trains at our gym and some of the powerlifters use him, so I thought I'd ask him, although I was waiting to ask as I'm a bit shy , no I am, honest!! lol. Plus he's got a PL show himself this weekend so I've left him alone this week! I think after hols next week I'll give it a go with him and see if I can walk afters! Depending on how it goes (i.e. if it hurts it must be working) I'll stick with him as he's local and apparently is really good, just wanted a lady really!! (Yes I am that shy - my legs are pretty (squidgey), well actually they're not pretty which is another reason!!lol)

Just had my morning voffe (whoops - that should say coffee!! early yet though - glad I noticed before I posted! ) - yes I do still get up at the same time on a Saturday to do my cardio - nutter that I must be! I've got arms 'n' abs to do just after 9.00 so I like to have a couple of hours rest between my cv and weights ideally!!

After my training calves with one of the lads yesterday I didn't think I'd be able to put my feet flat on the floor, but you what? they seem fine at the mo! Maybe it's tomorrow that I'll be tip-toeing around afterall!! .

12 x 10kg db x 3 sets

Cable curls x 3

10 x 9, dropped to 7 (got 6 out before arms pooped!)

super setted with:

Pushdowns x 3
12 x 8, 9, 10 plates

Hammer curls x 2 (couldn't face a 3rd - wimped out a bit 'cos my arms were stinging before I started!! )

12 x 10kgs
10 x 12.5kgs, dropped to 10kgs (x 6), dropped to 7.5kgs (x 5) Biceps were absolutely killing!! Good feeling!lol

Morning folks!! Last post before we go off on our wee hols! . Think the break will do me good (should be able to get some extra snooze time!!) and I'm hopeful that the change will help hubby deal with his Grandad passing away too, bless him.

Anyway, on a brighter note! Diet is going well, although yesterday I was soooooo fed up, so much so that I gave in and had some sugar free jelly - hope that's allowed!?

Training has been swapped around a bit as I don't think first day on hols hubby would be too impressed if I went off to the gym complex to see if I could do legs, so I did those yesterday and am taking today as my rest day instead!

CV x 65 pre-brekkie (was tempted to do 70mins, but resisted!! lol)

Legs (had limited time so didn't do quite as much as normal - )

Leg press x 3
15 x 80, 120, 160kgs

SLDL x 3
12 x 27.5kg dbs, 12 x 30kg dbs x 2 (only did 1 set with the 30's last week!! yay me!)

Squat x 4
15 x 30kg, 15 x 50kg, 12 x 60kg, 10 x 60kg.

(Think as I normally do legs after my rest day I was much more tired, much sooner - that's what I'm blaming and I'm happy-ish with that until next Monday - I'll get 'em then!!)

I'll be keeping the diet tight (except for an anniversary meal on Wednesday, which will be as clean as I can get it!) and training will be as the equipment permits! I have packed my mini stepper and some dumbbells so that I can do some walking lunges too!! (I'm soooo sad!! - Much better mood today though! )

Nikkie, have a lovely break!

And keep up the good work my dear! Always a pleasure to read your journal as you are always on top form!

And you have reminded me to purchase a mini stepper for my trailer when I can't face trekking to the Golf Club and spa!!

Have a good one!

Just got back - decided to beat the rush tomorrow morning!!

Diet - been a pretty good girl! Monday afternoon / evening - absolutely normal! Took Monday as my rest day too which made life easier!

Tuesday - up at 5.25am (how sad on your hols!?), mini stepper for 70 mins (got carried away I'm afraid James! To do my cardio I had to shut myself in the bathroom with my ipod as the place was bloomin' open plan! - managed not to wake hubby though, so well done there!!) Diet as normal - I've got to say, the fact that he doesn't actually know makes it hard sometimes, but also - I'm really quite good at planning the timings etc of things without getting into trouble!! lol .

Went to the gym today whilst hubby sat and put his feet up to watch a dvd - the equipment was as shockingly lacking as I thought it would be, but there was a cable contraption that I could adapt and it worked really quite well for back! Joined in with a couple of younger lads (18-20ish I'm guessing?), was so funny!! They kept looking across before I started as I was having a wee stretch whilst I waited for an appropriate time to ask if I could join in. Bloody hilarious!! (Sorry for cursing but it was too funny!). They obviously thought I was going to do something particularly girlie and so let me pinch the handle they were using - the look of dismay when I moved the pin further down the stack to do seated row was too funny for words! By the last exercise all but one had left and then the cheeky devil said I was massive!! Talk about a confusing compliment or not! Wasn't sure exactly what he meant - but it made me laugh anyway!

Anyway, had to share that, sorry folks but I was laughing away to myself until I got back to the 'villa'!

Training:
Seated row x 5
12 x 30, 35, 40, 45 & 10 x 50kgs on stack

Lat pulldown - close grip x 3
12 x 30, 40, 45kgs

Wide grip x 3
12 x 45 (2 sets)
12 x 40 (bit pooped actually - brief rest between sets is my excuse!!)

Straight arm pulldowns x 4
15 x 2, 12 x 2 x 15kgs on stack x 4

Plus we did loads of walking around, dog walking etc, so I think I've done alright on the whole for Tuesday!

Wednesday: Stepper x 65mins (outside as it kept squeeking!! ) Locked myself outside on the patio part by accident too at 10 to 7am! Did my CV and had to knock on the patio door for hubby to get up and let me in! Whoops!! Funny though!! . I got away with it by trying to be extra cute 'n' lovely as it was our 2nd anniversary, so once he got back into bed, gave him his card 'n' pressies!!lol

Weights - Chest 'n' abs
Booked Bri in for a massage which he sooo needs to de-stress whilst I trained!! Good thinking eh? lol.

Press x 6 (wouldn't normally do so many sets but the equipment meant I had to make up somehow!)

12 x 20, 25, 30, 35 x 2, 30kgs on stack

Cable cross overs x 5
15 dropping down to 12 x 10kgs up to 15kgs on stack. Odd bit of kit that I was using, felt it working though after a bit of manipulation of cables and stuff!!

Press-ups x 3 x 12

Crunch and reverse crunch superset x 20 x 2 each, 18 on last set (abs were really hurting - wimp!lol)

Again - loads of walking etc!
Deviated from diet slightly today - have to be honest! After training we had lunch whilst out (tried not to panic!!), I had Salmon (baked fillet) with salad and brown rice. I know I had more salmon than I'm normally allocated but did only each about 2/3 of it and I didn't eat much of the rice either!! Later I had a skinny cappucino - no topping, so that equated to approx 250ml skimmed milk more than I should've had, plus 1 brazil, 1 macadamia and 3 cashews. Sorry James, had to be a bit naughty to maintain innocence! I'm planning on making up for it as and when I need to. I did hope though, that wilth all the extra walking I've been doing that it shouldn't have dented my progress - keeping it all crossed!!

Today - diet A-OK!! Cardio x 65 am (outside, didn't lock myself out though! lol) and cadio x 60 on step whilst hubby went for a longer massage. Quickly packed everything up and had my bath etc before he even got back!! Wonder woman springs to mind!

Oh crap Tan!! That's the description I gave when I had my tattoo done! I'm really ticklish and nervy so don't have massages for that reason! I'm going to have to warn him I'm a jumpy giggly thing before we start! How embarrassing!

If any of you haven't lost the will to live whilst reading my update - I'll buy you a drink alcoholic or otherwise if we ever get chance to meet up!! lol
