Nikkie - my spaghetti arms are only capable of pushing 4kg dbs on the incline bench pres - my son could do better! I feel like one of those ladies who use tins of baked beans to tone up their 'bingo wings'!

Shoes are still going strong - do actually wear v high heeled boots most of the time anyway so the transition to shoes is purely academic!!!!!

Do you think your husband will go mental if he finds out what you are doing Nikkie? I do understand that he is entitled to his own opinions however he can't force you not to compete, can he? Just makes me feel a bit uneasy reading about your devious lifestyle!!!

Thanks Miss ticteaser - will try hard to be good, do you think I'll get my merit badge Miss? lmao!!!

If you carry on at this rate you can have a gold star.

p.s. I'm doing legs tonight so I'll be joining the wobbly legs gang tomorrow!

Ooh a gold star - that takes me back!! lol.

I'm hoping I can leave the wobbly legs gang tomorrow as I should've recovered by then until Monday (apart from the lunges I'm planning and maybe some calves on Friday)!! Hope I'm allowed back in though! lol

LMAO!!! Baked Beans - me thinks you're doing yourself an injustice there Chrissie!! I'm sure all this talk of spagetti and baked beans is linked to a tomato sauce fetish you've not shared!!

I think he'll be peed off for the fact that I haven't told him, but he'd be the same for longer if I did tell him!! So either way I can't really win. I'm just making the next few weeks as easy as possible, he got really stressed about it last year and in turn made me feel awful and completely knocked my confidence because of it, which is why I back out. I'm not prepared to go through it with him again this time TBH as I'd never tell him not to do something like this that he wanted, I'd support him as best I could. He's understanding about my training and the things I will and won't eat - at the minute that 's all I need! (And all you on MT of course!). I don't enjoy the fact that I can't tell him, but like I said, it was soooo not fun last year and I'm gonna do it anyway so I plan to upset him for the least amount of time possible!! . (I know it must sound awful though keeping it from him ) BTW - it helps prevent any guilt on my part if I think of it as my 'secret agent' lifestyle rather than a devious one!!! lol (The name's Bond. Jane Bond! lol)

I think once he sees you in comp mode and realises you don't look like a 'monster' then he will relax on that front but the issue of him not liking you in public in a bikini is another issue. Don't even thinking about it at the moment, you have a lot to get through first and as long as he is 'supportive' on the eating front without knowing what you're doing then that's as much as you need right now. It's the ones who try and persuade you to have a pizza etc that are the evil doers

That sucks... are you not tempted to take him to see a show? Just to see what he thinks then? I've never heard a guy complain watching the Figure girls there...

Nikkie, what Kitty says is true, as long as he is supportive of you right at this moment, then go with the flow!

He will surely be bowled over with lust and admiration when you do step out in your bikini and heels!

Secret Agent lifestyle could be your theme for the comps!!!!! Have you thought about a posing song yet??? Could do the James bond thing (I know it has been done before but hey, what hasn't!)

Nikkie - we all have a negative impression of the chap here. Like he's some kind of ogre, which I'm sure is not true. Although unsupportive of your wishes in competiting, he must have a lot of qualities, or he wouldn't be with you. Correct?

Does he like watching the strongman stuff on TV?
What does he think of male bodybuilding?

Hi all - I was starting to guess you all think I married a misery!! . He's a good egg really, it's just that this isn't his thing!! Other than the competing bit, he's like I say, a good egg on the whole - faults like the rest of us, but who hasn't!!?

He does watch the strongman on the TV, but only 'cos I want to I'm afraid. He keeps saying things like what's the point, just so you can lift something really big! - He just doesn't understand 'cos he's not into the whole training thing! As for male bodybuilding - pretty much the same!

We just have very different interests - he's a golfer and I do what I do! At least I always know what to buy as a stocking filler - lots of golf balls as he's not got a good handicap as yet (or can't be bothered to find them if they go into the rough parts!! lol

HI Nikkie - I'm sure he is. It seems he can't appreciate that some people enjoy different things. What's the point of walking round a load of grass hitting a ball with a piece of iron every so often along the way?

I was hoping he might like strongman, coz I was going to suggest dragging him to Dayo Audi's show in May where Mariusz is guesting. But guess that won't work!

Exactly James!! I've said that one to him in my own defence before now!! lol. I think it was along the lines of why hit a little ball with little stick and spend hours walking round trying to find the darn thing!!? I think it's what's known as the 19th hole!! i.e. the clubhouse bar / lunch menu!!

Where's the stongman show at anyway James - I wouldn't mind seeing Mariusz in the flesh so to speak?!

Oh - thought I'd say whilst you're around that the diet's still going well and the training's fine too! Just hope it's doing what it should be, I'm trying not to look until the weekend! lol.

Hiya - that's the main thing really that at the moment, he's kinda going with it and as long as that's ok, I'm happy and he's not upset which is ideal. Everything else will fall into place in due course I'm sure. Maybe after I've done the first comp that's local I can tell him about it all, show him some piccies etc and he may well be completely fine with it and just not want to come see for himself!? Either way, at this stage, I'm not overly worried!! Got lots more time and tons more work to do, so I'll deal with that first!!

Ooh - got a copy of the poster for the local show earlier that had been dropped off at the gym - got dead excited too!! (wanted to hop about clapping, but resisted and grinned lots whilst doing my next set!! he,he!)

Training tonight was back:

Seated Row
1 warm up set x 15 on 6 plates (on stack)
12 x 2 on 7 & 8
10 on 9

Single arm row
12 x 2: 27.5, 30kgs
10 x 1: 32.5kgs

Hammer Lat p'down
12 x 3 : 40kgs

Straight arm pulldowns
15 x 3 : 3 plates (on stack)

Few abs

How does that sound for a girlie back session?? I gotta say I do enjoy training back! There's not much I don't enjoy though TBH!!

Diet - exactly the same as yesterday - again, so far so good this week!! Got my everything crossed for more results on Sunday when I weigh 'n' measure!!

It's not a strongman show, it's a bodybuilding show - just with him guesting - details here

Keep going good

I guess if hubbie recognises your past-time as a viable sport he would have difficulties hanging dumbells in a stocking over the fireplace

Good going Nikkie, keep up the hard work. When you finally break the news to hubbie, maybe this info will help http://hardbodyfigure.com/Fig68.html

Hi Chrissie - yep! Decided on a song eventually! Didn't consider the James Bond thing though gotta be honest!! Took me ages to decide though, I kept changing my mind. I thought the earlier on I decide and then stop searching / downloading the better, at least I can not have a panic attack about that!! (One thing off the list of many!! lol).

Thanks James, I'll see what we're up to and might just get there if we're not busy. I'll be on my todd though probably unless some fromthe gym are taking a ride up - we'll see!

Hiya S41N7 - he a;ways says he wouldn't dare buy me any more dumbbells, he thinks the bedroom floor is going to come through already!! I suppose the mantel piece would be the least of our worries then!! lol.

Thanks for the encouragement and the link too!

NDB - your right there! I keep saying to him - well at least all my friends can count to at least 10 and don't get stuck at 4!! lmao. The first time I said it I was absolutely helpless - you know when you say something daft and it really tickles you - that was one of them!! The other was one evening when we were doing dinner when he asked me how his lamb was looking - I replied 'sheepish!'. (he thought I'd say, a few more minutes it'll be done). I was literally crying!! pmsl. You'll all think I'm so sad now - you probably had to be there!!
