Sounds like my sense of humour that and if they stand there looking at you with a blank face, it makes me laugh even more

Today has been a bit of a funny one - did morning cardio, brekkie 'n' work as normal but had to leave early to pop to the GPs to sort this rash out I've developed this week! He said it looks like a red rash! (Doh!!) That's what I said!! Can you advise me on what I can do about the rash I've got, it's a bit red and really hot - sounds pretty eh??! lol

I've got some strong antihistamines to be getting on with so I'm hoping that by tomorrow I don't want to tear my neck to pieces or stick my head in the fridge! lol.

Training today was just double cardio, 60mins before breakfast and 60 mins this evening! Diet as normal although I had veggies instead of salad for lunch and I'm about to have salad for tea - sound exciting?? Got to say I'm not feeling convinced that I've changed as much this week - I could feel it last week -I'll just have to wait 'n' see!! (need to be a patient girl!! )

Anyway, for those of you that are now on your hols for Easter, have a great time!! I'll think of you in the morning when I'm a cycling-aling-aling!! (My Dad always talks like that, it's where I get my personality from! His fault I'm full of it most of the time - nothing to do with me - honest!! lol).

Kitty, I thought it was hilarious!! I couldn't stop laughing and when I did I kept tittering away 'cos, like you say, the look on his face was just brilliant!! lol

How's it going your end anyway? My back is aching (in a good way) from training yesterday - must've done something right eh? and the plan James has done for me so far is (dare I say it) really quite easy, just have to jiggle things around a bit sometimes!

I know what you mean Tan! I booked a little surprise short break for us in April (Centre Parcs so we can 1. Take the dog, 2. I can go walking as morning cardio before hubby wakes and 3. when he's having a massage or 2, I can go training in some fashion in the gym there! ) and it's the first holiday of sorts we've had for 3 years! Earned a rest me-thinks?! lol

I swear I will stick to the plans as far as possible and I intend on only eating out once (our 2nd anniversary whilst we're there) which should be reasonably easy as it's only a short break!

Gooood Mornin!!!! Blimey - all this coffee at 6 in the morning - can't be good for anyone else in our house!! I've been up around half an hour already, sorted the dog out (who has now curled up and fallen back to sleep!), prepared breakfast, now just finishing said coffee before I do my cardio!!

It's a good job the gym I go to doesn't open early - I think they'd ban me before 8.00 anyway!! lol . Must try to be less boundy in the mornings, it doesn't alter my mood when it's blowing a gale and pretty damn cold 'n' miserable outside either! But hey-ho we've got a long weekend so hooray!! . (Think I am too much in the mornings aren't I? I can take it! )

Anyway, about to do my wee hour of cardio, as it's bank hols, I'll be training this morning too - shoulders today, I'm planning on doing a heavier set or 2 today as I'm sure there'll be a couple of the lads around to spot me (I think I do 2, they do the remaining 6 reps!! lol) . Will let you know how it goes later!!

Training yesterday went reasonably well, a bit disappointed I didn't get as much out of my shoulders as I'd hoped though, there's always next time!

DB Press x 4
12 x 10kgs
12 x 15kgs
6 x 17.5kgs (disappointed - no one to spot either )
10 x 15kgs

Lat Raises x 3
12 x 7.5kgs
12 x 10kgs
10 x 10kgs

Bent over lat raises x 3
12 x 7.5

Cable lat raises x 3
12 x 1 plate
10 x 2
12 x 1

Abs - 3 x hanging knee raise x 15
Crunch m/ch x 4 x 20 (3, 4, 3, 3 on stack)
Bench knee raises x 2 x 20 (ouch!)

Diet went well again, same content as normal - no problems to report!!

And now for todays training update!!

60mins cycle as usual pre brekkie - usually hungry after about 20 mins or so, nothing different this morning! I'm sure this is why breakfast tastes so good and seems like such a huge meal (well not huge, but lurvely!! lol)

Arms today - I'm trying to get my biceps to match up so I've done a few extra reps on dbs to try and squeeze a bit more out of my left one!

BB Curls x 4
12 x 10, 12 x 15, 12 x 17.5kgs plus bar
drop set, 10 x 20, 5 x 17.5, 5 x 15 (arms dead!!)

Kickbacks x 4
1 x 12 x 7.5kgs
3 x 12 x 10kgs

Cable curls x 4
12 x 7 plates on stack
12 x 8
8 x 9 (plus 2 reps + spot)
6 x 9 (plus 2 + spot)

Pushdowns x 4
12 x 8 plates on stack
12 x 9
12 x 10
12 x 11 (just managed those last 2!!)

Hammer curls x 3
12 x 10kgs (arms pooped!)
10 x 12.5kgs (arms realy pooped!)
Drop set: 7 x 12.5, 5 x 10, 5 x 7.5kgs (have I got any arms??! lol)

Single arm pushdown x 3
12 x 2 plates on stack
12 x 3 (just)
12 x 2

Verdict - arms feel useless about now!!! Can't wait to find out how sore I'll be in the morning, I guess I'll get a feel for it late this evening (I usually do!)

Had a few positive comments from others in the gym this morning as it's the first time I've worn a crop top to train in - some of the lads were saying I'm tightening up, others were saying I'm fading away (yeah right!!) and others just commenting on how good I'm looking already and make sure I take my time as there are still 14 weeks to go!!
That's soon going to be single figures - then I'll be worried (even more so!)

You're not kidding!lol. I just keep thinking how quickly we've reached Easter - scary stuff! In 14 weeks time it'll be D-Day tomorrow, if you see what I mean - can't imagine how I'm going to be, I know one thing, if I've not be rumbled by that stage, he'll surely get suspect when I start drinking that wine !! lol.

I did get some good comments today, from girlies and guys alike, so although I'd thought I hadn't changed to the naked eye this week, maybe I have afterall!!

Just got to be patient, good and not panic. Have you have times of sheer panic with this amount of time to go? I'm worried about all sorts of things that I'll be piling onto poor ol' James when I see him in a couple of weeks!!

Nikkie, it is natrual to be worried but if you are truly doing all you can do to prepare, then worrying is not going to alter anything, is it???? Remember that cortisol!!!!

I am only concerned that once these comps are over, what am I going to do with myself!!!!!! That is seriously concerning!!!

If you are getting nice comments then you are obviously carrying yourself with a lot more confidence and awareness as well as probably altering your body composition! It really is all about believing in yourself as much as anything!

Thanks Chrissie - I think I'm just a bit concerned that my skin won't tighten up and my lower half won't catch up with the top!! Not that I doubt for a second that James won't do everything he can to make sure I'm A1!! I've said it before - I just need to get the old confidence going!! lol. I'll get there shortly I'm convinced!! If I can wear a crop top to training (the first time in 2 years!!) I can do it no problemo! (With diet etc in place that is!!)

As for what you'll do with yourself afterwards - you'll be relaxing for a couple of weeks, then thinking about the areas you want to improve for next years comps!! lol!! .

HI All, hope you've had a nice little break over Easter, it's been nice not to have to go to work, I even managed to grab a snooze on Friday afternoon and blitz the house with hubby yesterday!

As yesterday was my rest day (another strange day, feels odd not to be doing anything training wise, still, did get lots of jobs done!!).

Training today - legs!

Cycle, pre-brekkie x 60mins

45 deg Leg Press x 5
20 x 40kgs warm up
15 x 80
12 x 120
12 x 160
10 x 180

SLDL x 3
12 x 25, 27.5 & 30 dbs

Lunges x 3
12 x 10, 12.5 & 15kg dbs

Squat rack & Smith m'ch being used so replaced squats with:

Horizontal Leg Press x 2 (Tried to make my position as close to squats as possible! got to admit though, my legs 'n' glutes were broken by this time - couldn't face a 3rd set - wimp )
12 x 120 & 140kgs

Standing calf raises x 4
15 x 60kg on stack
15 x 67.5
15 x 75
15 x 60

(Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!! lol)

About to get myself sorted and changed and off out for a couple of hours, nothing specific planned - we'll just see!

OMG! My legs are sooooo broken today already, I only finished training just before 11 this morning! I'll be a proper shuffle, broken bottom tomorrow!! Can't wait for morning cardio!! lol.

Diet's gone well again today, 1 meal and my pre-bed shake to go - have to be honest though, I did pinch a grape earlier, hopefully I'll get away with that though eh!? lol

Hi Noticed that you're going for your first competition and are quiet nervous about it. I always tell my self that the only one holding me back is myself! So I turn my mind away from the negative thoughts and tell them to **** off haha... works for me
Your journal is looking good and I wish you all the best of luck for your competition. I have the same goal as you, but mine is alot further away LOL

Hi Elsa, thanks for dropping in! I'd say quite nervous is a polite way of saying pooping it!! lol. Like your attitude too! .

Are you planning on competing this year? I know you say we share a goal, what timescale are you on? I keep counting down (and get butterflies!! lmao), we're now on 14 weeks as yesterday, I was thinking whilst training this morning - 'in 14 weeks time I'll have done the first one and I'll know that I CAN do it!! - wonder what I'll look like?' That makes me train even harder that last bit - it's a great motivator, that and the fact that I've arranged to go and meet James in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping I've progressed since we met last year, I'm sure he'll tell me either way!
