I was just wondering as you said you worked for 24hrs at a time, that was all.

Caz I work in a residential care home. So shifts are laid up so we can stay through the night Makes it difficult to plan diet, but in return it gives me a more time off than normal 9-5 job

I see you are from Norway, what do you do for a living?

I have to admit I'm still a bit cautious giving out too many personal details online . Can I ask why you are asking?

Knowing Caz it won't be anything sinister Elsa ....oh I see she's answered whilst I've been typing. You can always mail her the info if you don't want to say anything on line. Indeed when I joined up I was a little wary of what I said but most know my real name now from comps and many have met so I'm pretty open now but understand those who don't wish to be so

hey kitty I only saw your reply now. I guess my cautiousness is a result of living in a small where you mention one thing and suddenly everybody knows everything. but I gave it a though while I've been away working and decided on a place like this forum it doesn't really matter because no one knows which home I'm speaking about anyway Internet is bigger than my wee island

Thanx for asking
Been a rough weekend with work and assignments so not been able to focus as much as I hoped on my diet. Workout have been going more or less up to date though and I've booked a session with personal trainer for this Friday and I'm hoping she can help me set up a progression plan.
I'm also gonna talk to a guy at the same leisure centre who instruct in gymnastics and see what he can help me with. I want to do well in that freestyle round thingy... not sure exactly which competition that is though

I'm aiming for big!! build lean musclemass and define my legs and butt more. Just so the diet ahead of competition will get easier

It's going slowly but I'm starting to get the grip of things... Just need some time to get myself more organised.

TUESDAY

Another week of annual leave :) Couldn't have come at a better time. Lot to get my head around these days, both professionally and privately. Feeling a bit stressed so I'm glad I have this week off to gather my thoughts a bit.

At work they'd been baking more cakes which of course I couldn't stay away from Been fairly ok the rest though.

Got to work the chest and triceps on Monday with a 15 min hard interval cardio after.
today I did 45 min spinning, and dropped leg workout cause it's been a really long day. Suppose to be my day off tomorrow but I'm just gonna do legs then instead so I'm not loosing out

BF said he was going to the kebab shop for take away after his fishing, and I managed to say no and instead I've had some cottage cheese and 2 large cups of top quality green tea I think that this evening routine can become a habit very quickly. It was yummy. So that means 2 meals nailed down

Tomorrow is another busy day. Gonna get up early for some morning cardio. Yuhuu!

THURSDAY

Sister is coming to stay for a week today :) I think I'll be too busy this weekend to do much training, so I'm gonna leave it all for next week and decided that my countdown for the competition can start than.
12 months to go if I want to be ready for competition next year May time. Gotta get more help with my diet. fair enough to have a cheat day here and there, but I'm cheating all the time and it's not good at all. Don't have any will power and I need to find a way to overcome it. Or maybe I just need to be more organised???
Diet to be reviewed! Find a way that works for me.... Mornings and evenings are sorted... depending on how the rest of the day has gone.... thats were I struggle. I got no routine in my days...

Kebabs My Friday night treat . My local shop do a chicken kebab and then they do what they call a chicken tikka starter which is basically the kebab without the bread but extra salad. I move onto this when I start my diet and feel I'm not missing out when hubbie is tucking into the smelly donner kebab.

Been an amazing weekend!!! Concerts and jam sessions all weekend in company of old friends and new ones. lots of alcohol and crap food. But I didn't care. It was worth it. This was my last blow out before I get serious so I had to make the most of it.

friday morning I went to a PT session to assess my starting point, break down my goal to become sensible, reachable short term goals. I've been told I need to clean up my diet and cut out all the cheating I've been doing. (Which has been happening too often) Lean food and drinks all the way. That means cutting out alcohol, chocoloate and crisps

I'm going to opt my cardio and do it more intensely than what I have been doing (cause she made me realise that I've not been working hard enough ) The weight sessions are becoming heavier and more frequently to begin with. A full-body workout for the next 6 weeks working heavy, with sets of 6 reps, 8 and 10.
I'm picking up the program tomorrow and the first re-assessment will be in 4 weeks and I must have lost min 2% BF by then.

It's no more nonsense. I'm starting my countdown and have decided that in 12 months time I will be ready for competition!!

It's already done. They're on page 3. It was taken at the end of March but little/no changes since then. I've been waiting for my PT to assess and make goals. Next progress picture will come up in 4-6 weeks time, now that I've started the new regime.

I'm really excited now and can't wait to see the first results

I am really excited to see your results and how you're doing on the competition too! I wish I was there to see you on stage, but I have to wait to the next competitions coming up after summer time I think

Hi There elsa that seems like a strict diet to stick too long term or does it vary from day to day?

Caz: Thanx for feedback Yes it will vary. This was only what I've been eating today.
Generally I'll try and keep the amount (+/-1800 kcal), frequency (5-6) and type (lean and clean) about the same every day, but change the food slightly. Do you think it' sounds ok, or is it enough/too little food intake for a day? I never seem to be sure enough on this bit

Elsa, sorry you will have to excuse my blonde moment!!!! Yep, your pictures are there, and I have commented on them!!!! Hee!! Brain officially fried!!!!

Think your output and input is bit sharp for the beginning of a 12 month run in my lovely! You do need to be careful that you can keep it up becaue the last few months are Stricto McStricto! (See above reference to totally losing the plot!)

Am sure you will get a feel for what is best for you!

Hi there Elsa, i have 7 meals a day thats including my post workout drink.

1. oats with eggs

2.chicken and a piece of fruit

3.tuna and salad and jacket potato

4 cottage cheese and jacket potato

5.post work out drink- whey protien

6. lean meat or fish and veg

7 cottage and fruit or rice cakes.

then you can adjust the portions up or down as necessary until you see if you are loosing or gaining weight, i measure myself and this is a good gauge, your waist is a good one. Drink plenty of water.

If you do too much cardio at the beginning it is difficult to maintain and you have nothing to add in at a later stage.

ChrissieG and Caz: Thank you for really good feedback. It is very much appriciated (ignore spelling ).
I've been eating about the same all weekend, and I actually haven't thought that my activity level might be too high, and I understand what you're saying that it will make it more difficult to increase WO and/or decrease diet when I get closer to comp...
I'll see how I can manage to change it. I feel I am listening to my body, but maybe not enough?? I normally do skip the Pre-breakfast walk if I feel sleep is more needed and I do eat more if I feel hungry. However my appetite has decreased slightly though and I don't feel like I need all that much.... My neighbor who is quiet experienced in BB says whey has an affect on the appetite and can make you feel less hungry... hence eat less than you should. He told me this was something to be aware of so I don't eat too little....?
