OK will start that tomorrow. Do you do every morning and how long?
Its quite nice here today, would have been ok to get out for a walk if I didn't still feel like an elephant was sat on my chest! Taking another day off work, Im going to Argos to get some kitchen scales so I can start weighing my food.

More or less every morning unless it's absolutely hammering down or something! I aim for 5 times a week plus do cardio in the evenings as well now as I'm struggling to lose fat. 40-60 minutes is about right. It's quite nice once you get out and used to it, honest!

Scales are a must too luvvie.

Jess, I hope you are feeling much better!

Would agree with Flick that consistency to purpose is the key to this malarky!!! Consistent portion size is a winner and as Flick says, gives you something concrete to work with if you need to adjust (either way!)

Serious, static diet and 6 mornings a week cardio has been the real turning point for me, body composition wise! It becomes second nature after you do it solidly for two weeks!

Went to Argos and now have scales so have been weighing everything (not just what Im eating,,,everything!) Have done well today till I had an unplanned bananna weighing 105grams....Im not sure what that means in the scheme of things, think I will be back to logging it all on fitday from tomorrow so I can see the breakdown without having to work it out myself.
Also got a rebounder reduced to £11 which is out in the front garden will be out on that in the morning!

Feeling loads better, going to have another dose of medicine and get off to bed so I can be up and going for my early morning bounce

Ok did Fitday for today
cals 1473
protein 168g (45%)
carbs 136g (36%)
fat 31g (19%)

AM cardio has yet to get off the ground! Will realy try tomorrow, just realised my Nan is coming at the weekend, I did know just didn't appreciate the fact it would change my plans! I was thinking its the first Friday in ages were I could do abs and then yoga classes, and the real teacher is back from her month training in Thailand so it would have been good! Now realised I will be going to meet my Nan and probably have the difficulty of having to go to dinner. At least I have the excuse that I have to get the kids home to bed at 7 so I can go to the gym after and wont have the excuse not to do weights!

Went last night and did back and biceps, realy pleased I did 10kg hammer curls! Got a bit confused and only did lat pull downs and machine rows for my back, couldnt think what else I do! (mental block on the barbell rows )

I think legs and chest tonight which leaves shoulders and triceps for tomorrow.

Im back! well I hope I am, everytime I go to post the computer crashes but I will give it a go!

Last few weeks have been crap, being sick, loads of stress at work and lots of things going on at home my training has gone out the window. Not sure now that I can pull it back in time. I have an essay due on Friday so till then Im out of the gym. I have completely lost focus and motivation and the stress has had me shoving cake in my mouth, saying that I am 3 lbs down but not happy that this is fat loss.
Looking at Chrissies routine and diet that James posted Im just thinking "how do I have time for this?" Im not even getting morning cardio in although this is down to motivation rather than time. If I sort my self out now I could get out with Nixie in the buggy and get a walk in before work but I havent got my food ready........blah blah excuses, if I want this I need to get on and do it so why am I not? I need a kick up the arse to get me going again, Iv'e lost my momentum.
OK my sweet potato is in the microwave, Im going to chuck my trainers on and get out on the rebounder. Then Im going to focus on work while Im there and my essay when I get home and Saturday morning when all is calm Im going to sit down and make a plan of attack for the next week and see were I am then.

It's all about getting into a routine...

Very simply, I never go to bed unless my food's prepped for the next day. I never leave the gym until all my cardio's done (even if I miss my train home). I always set my alarm so I have time to eat my breakfast in the morning... the list goes on...

You just have to work out, what you can fit in where, write it down, then stick to it...

I always use a bb-ing mum as my example, she has 4 kids, her own gym and is still a pro-bodybuilder. I think if she has time to train, eat properly, look after her kids and work then me with my no responsibilites should be a million times better... Admitedly she has a hubbie to share the workload with but nonetheless when I think of people like that I'm soooooo not busy!

You'll crack it Jess, but only when you're ready to...

Jess

You can do it! Yep, getting up at 5.30am is a bummer but my food is pre-prepared in little mini fridge that I got especially for MY food (stops people eating all my planned meals!) My son now fits around my gym sessions of a day, been a bit of a motivation for him to start getting himself dressed of a morning actually (he's only just four but I get them started young!)
I pack my cool bag and away I go!

Having a few bits of equipment at home is excellent, my mini stepper has been a revalation because it looks so inadequate! Trust me though, it gets the HR in the zone real easy and it is just making yourself do it that is the problem!

I have found myself cutting back on my social 'obligations' to fit it all in but I haven't missed the majority of them, which makes me wonder why I was at the beck and call of certain friends beforehand!!!

If there is a will, there is a way!

Hi there yeh as the others say its all about getting into a routine, i'm also get all my food ready in all the little containers ready weighed out the night before put them into my cool bag and its just to pick up in the morning.
I must admitt my kid are 16 & 18 so dont need so much looking after as when they were younger ( well sometimes i think need more), my alarm goes at 5.50am then up and quick black coffee then to beach for 50 mins cardio then back home, ready for work and off armed with the cool bag.

You have been doing well everyone looses track at times but next week get yourself organised and you will find it much easier to cope with.
Just thinking there why do we put ourselves through all this!!!

mmm, I think it was mentioned somewere!

that is whats gone wrong, I was getting more organised (Im not an organised person!) then once I lost that it all fell to bits. Tomorrows a new start, just got to get 1200 words more of essay done by midnight. (And I have to go to work first!) then the pressure is off and I can get myself back on track, work out all my meals for the week all my gym and cardio sessions and I will be up and running again. Got the London club meet next week so want to get a great week in before that so I can turn up feeling more confident with what Im doing and were Im going.
