Wow, didn't know that Paulo, thank you. Do you remember any of it and the change in the times. More interesting I feel to listen to personal experience in these things.

I was a baby, at the time, still am lol, but my father was a Captain of the Army, because he had to go to the army at the time, and he still classes it as one of the best days of my life.

I remember the few years after that on the 25th of April, the song I posted from youtube played in every single house on my street and everyone was happy and friendly with each other.

Its funny when you look back at how simple things made every body happy, like being able to go to a cafe and actually not be afraid to talk.

My father, before the revolution, had to hide vinyls he had of Russian composers, because our own Secret Police knew that he had them and they were classed as Communist propaganda and he would go to jail for it.

People were arrested because they would mumble something against Salazar (the dictator) it was a difficult time for all involved.

People are surprised when I tell them that things like Coca Cola only arrived in Portugal in mid 80s because it was capitalist. Colour TV was again in mid 80s, because colour was detrimental in showing the news. McDs the first one in Portugal was in 1991.

How awful to not even listen to music you like. Drinks and TV fine, I suppose if you've never had them you don't miss them but for the simple things like talking in a cafe and your Dads albums just make me shiver and feel so lucky to be in a country like GB

I know, I just used the example of the food and drink as to what kind of stuff was allowed.

Even movies and tv series for instance were heavily censured if they "portrayed" the wrong image to the general public. There were several "underground" cinemas that were often raided because they were showing some more riske movies, specially French and British movies.

We were also at the time still ruling countries like Angola, Mocambique and Guine Bissau. We were the latest European country to let their "Empire" crumble as we were absolutely hated by many in those countries because of the way we dealt and rulled them.

Yep. What it strikes me now, is when I was 5 or 6 year old and I was getting aware of everythign around me, all grown ups, a few years before, were not able to do the stuff safely and openly as they were then.

Unfortunately, most people, in any country take a lot of things for granted and complain willy nilly about banal things when they should stop and think back to what happened in the past or is actually still happening today in loads of places in the world.

Apartment is excellent news!!!! Cant bloody wait! lol. Going shopping tomorrow for pans, plates and other stuff and am excited about it!!

Well after my "wilderness" out of the net due to work network problems and not being in the mood to log on at work, I am back.

Did Back training on Sunday instead of friday, as on Friday arrived at the gym, opened my bag, proceeded to take wraps, gloves, log book and water bottle of the bag and realised that I had no tshirt or shorts to workout on, so put everything back in the bag, whilst swearing loudly in Portuguese, drawing some funny faces out of people, and went and had my hair cut done instead!!!

Sunday did an excellent workout in back with highlights being:

Seated Rows - 95kg x 6 & 95kg x 5 New PB - Full Stack
Lat Pulldowns - 87.5kg x 6 & 87.5kg x 8 New PB
Rope BO Cable Rows - 57.5kg x 6 New PB

Tonight will do my last workout of the week in Muay Thai.
Have my interview tomorrow in Paris.
Thursday finishing touches on a few things for the move.
Friday see the Bank to change mortgage to missus.
Saturday Move
Sunday assemble furniture
Monday enjoy apartment and buy TV
Tuesday planning on visiting Tan's healing hands - need to call her soon.
Wednesday Tattoo
Thursday back to work

Dont know how long I am going to have to be out of action from the gym from the tattoo work, but I reckon Muay Thai will be at least a full week as it is contact sport.

Ok, that is the update so far.

Have the pics for the comp which I will upload soon, might do like Rack and put in on the first page of the journal to make it easier to compare... Will see...

Sounds like you're going to be a busy fella the next few days mate!

As for the tattoo I find caking it in savlon works really well, I never have any probs training after having work done on mine.

Well done on the PB's too. I better get my finger out on today's back session!!

Cheers Dave. Where have you been hiding? Ready yet for thai boxing?

Well interview done. Two and half hours of it. Went well but still need to digest it better to ascertain if i'm going to be called for 3rd interview. Want the job but not getting too excited about it. In Paris airport wasting an hour or so prior to flight.

Can concentrate on moving home now.
