I'm sorry righty but that is simply incorrect. There is no curriculum when it comes to Universities, never has been and likely never will be, it defeats the object of them. When there are so many different courses and so many different options it is frankly impossibe. At my University even within Maths there is something in the region of 50 option modules, how can you make it so that those modules are the same as other Unis? You can't. I can't be bothered to argue anymore, however, as it's clear I'm the only person fighting this cause and it's never worth the effort when you're outnumbered.

Let's agree to differ - the thread is so far off course it'll take a week to turn it back round.

Now, who do we want to see get booted out by Mr Sugar next week?

Another thing that speaks volumes is the prize

Why are all these "Entrepreneurs" jumping through hoops to win £100k PA ? - surely (if they are as good as we are supposed to be believing ) - they are all aready earning / capable of earning far more than that ?

I realise working with Alan Sugar can be seen as a privalage - But surely gambling their reputations on a show such as this would not be favourable ?

....Unless , of course they are lying

Must admit, I have wondered about that myself, I'm sure many people would love to earn that much but £100K these days in London is not THAT much

It's got to be just for the exposure, you know what they say (I think it's this), any publicity is good publicity.
My GF's the same, in the house she will jump about and act like a clown and say, any attention is good attention LOL

Thought it was very entertaining. As mentioned elsewhere, Simon (the one who had to chop the head off the fish) is a close friend of mine.

He's an ex soldier and highly decorated too having spent time in Bosnia and Ireland when it was a scary place to be a British soldier. He's a decent lad with no qualifications who currently installs SKY TV for a living (they call him a 'satellite engineer' on the programme, lol).

Simon is however full of street smarts, quite bright, able to think of his feet and a genuine grafter - he will absolutely turn his hand to anything. He's also much older than most (all?) of the blokes on the programme. For all the bluster they come out with when interviewed, it seemed to me that most of the boys team were young, naive and fundamentally lacking in genuine confidence that comes from experience. I noticed early on that the older (wiser?) Simon found it quite easy to manipulate most of them, keeping low key at the same time. I think he features quite heavily in next week's episode and knowing Simon as I do this could be quite funny to watch.

The girls team is full of strong characters who (more than the boys) seem to genuinely believe their hype which could prove explosive.

There was a similar character on one of the series of the American show. First name was Kelly and he had an army background and was older.

He absolutely walked it. Really thought he ws the kind of guy I would like to work with. Turned his hand anything and there was no BS from him.

I watched this last night on the BBC iPlayer.
For some reason I really liked Raef...I don't know why as when he first came on I thought what a toffee nosed jerk he came across as, but as the prog went on I found myself warming to him as he ended up as being quite the pacifier. I hope he does well.

I'm glad Nicholas got booted off, what an up-himself goon.

What made me laugh was the lobster debacle, where the boys totally underpriced it.
A few of them come across as being quite upper class with their private education and giving the air of they go to all the best places and mix in high society. Do they never eat out in fine restaurants...have they never seen the price of lobster on a menu? They should have known for gods sake, pricing a lobster at £5 each is sacrilige!

I was getting so frustrated as i know my fish and seafood like the back of my hand! I should have been on there - I would have wiped the floor with the lot of them!!

Yes and I absolutely guffawed when the guy said "look at the breast on this" as he pointed to a fillet of fish. LMAO!!

You wont get any BS from Simon whatsoever, he is however loud as hell and liable to go off the rails at the drop of a hat, lol.

this is the first time i have ever watched the apprentice and i really enjoyed it !!

anyone could do the task but i guess it was to see how they got on as a big team rather than what they did.

loved the 'after' show with adrian childs too, very very funny (watched it on the i-player) awsome !!!

I recorded the repeat of the first episode last night watched it earlier today was pretty good I thought. Has the makings of a decent series I recon, next weeks task looks interesting and stressful... from what I gathered from the expressions and tears on the advert!

on tommorow night, can't wait, was just having a look for Alan Sugar's biography and found this rather unusual photo of one of last years contestants (is it possible to get nicotine stains where she looks like she's got them?)

http://images.vnu.net/gb/inquirer/news/2005/03/22/alan-sugars-apprentice-snapped-after-hours/rachel.jpg

and found some of Alan Sugar looking very amusing
