any tips for passing computer literacy and hard nosed sales types of questions?the sharky bits shouldnt be too hard, only need to get 30% acceptable responses, but all help is help.

how hard are computer literacy tests, considering they dont want qualifications or owt.

The ones I did were pretty moderate, so you have a basic understanding of Maths or English. So they know they don't have a complete incompetent fool.

Be keen and full of optimism. It goes a long way and will keep the interviewer interested from the start.

Good luck.

They arn't to hard mate, i had to do a computer litracy test, and pyscometric test for my last job. Try to seem career orientated and also make out you are working towards a goal in your personal life i'e saving for a house wedding etc as this gives the impression you will be extra motivated. Also take in a selection of questions and also printed out research on the company in your folder or even better order a pamflet but make sure its in plain view in the interview. NEVER make out your money orientated as tis gives the impression your short term. Be relaxed and use a closing technique at the end of the interview ie.

'do you have any reservations' (this shows you comfortable asking awkward questions)

Adress any issues then and there with valid reasons, this is your chance to negotiate your way out.

'Are you in a position to offer me a second interview/ the job now' (This shows you are not scared of closing a conversation).

Off you toddle, if you using a recruitment consultant gt feedback if not ring the company a day after they said they would let you know as this shows you are keen and want the job.

cheers to the well wishers, but i failed lmao.

went in,she said i was late(i was there on time and had gone for a bit of a leak and freshen up while the bloke went to fetch her.),she said shed normally have sent me packing but she would let me off.

then i did a test where i needed to get 30% of questions right, which she said i failed, depending on wether they want people to lie for every question, theres no way i failed, and id still be surprised if id failed anyway.

not the right environment for me tbh though,so im not that bothered.live and learn and all that.

If the place is hard to find then they should let you off anyways. No doubt you will get something soon.

I was late for my last interview on the other end of Wolverhampton, just because it was solid to find. It was very enclosed. They could have at least given me the chance at the job. Piss easy it was. ****ing employers.

i did a comp and excel test for my interview, piss of piss.

had to create a pivot table and use some vlookup functions and some other bits, and for the word, they asked me to create a letter out of all things lol.

passed it though and got the job, wahey!

i feel like im a bit of a handy man as well, i much prefer physical sort of work but i havent anything to back it up.

ah well, good luck for your next one mate.

Well, yeah, but as you stated, you weren't really late as you had to go bathroom.

Understandable. No one wants to be a crap environment.
