No, mega-dosing fish doil doesn't make me smell at all. Just take it with juice otherwise you're going to puke, it's disgusting. With juice is fine. I also have to say that I was quite in bad mood and had some insomnia before taking fish oil. Do not understimate this effect. That's great if myprotein can make a 500ml version but I wonder whether they are going to be cheaper than zipvit.co.uk. The price at zipvit seem unbeatable.

dont forget to compare the EPA an DHA values of different products as they can vary widely and therefore what you can "really" get for your money can vary greatly

did that, zipvit still the most convenient. The thing is that they area a big company and can afford doing those prices. Their prices on vitamins are ridiculously low.

ORIGINAL: Lucky_jim http://www.t-nation.com/article/supplements/bcaa_and_athletic_performance&cr= As per my comment even the title is athletic performance. Again I've seen some studies which support their use by those with an athletic bent but not any showing real benefit for bodybuilders. I even said it'd be on T-Nation. Myprotein, who sell them, have an article which showed some (and it was just some) benefit from cyclists. Now ANYONE can sell them and of course like MyPro not all of my customers are bodybuilders but most are as are most MT members (or at least looking to improve themselves in a muscular way - they can call themselves what they like). So I think it's fair to assume that those with the aim to getting bigger and stronger would want to know if they are worth a look. In short no. That's without stating the obvious, which another member already did, that most trainees on MT, of any kind, will be getting plenty of whole food and supplemental protein and especially post workout (best time for BCAA's in the articles). ALL protein rich food and especially whey protein supplements are rich in BCAA's. Ergo do one, or do the other, but why bother doing both? The best arguments I see usually go along the lines of 'not wanting to take a chance'. Not exactly science eh?

Regarding pros giving advice. SOME are actually pretty good advisor's and knowledgeable on what works and what does not. But on the whole they are piss poor. We all seem to agree they have genetic advantages and many can get away with habits, be they training or nutritional, that the rest of us cannot. Most of the better experts in nutrition are as far from a pro bodybuilder as you can get. Look at many of the better known training, posing and nutritional guys and gals... most look average.

I think there's a huge difference between getting BCAAs from Whey and in pure form. I found that recovery it's much better with BCAAs. They are more expensive but there also lots of offers. And you can just cycle them, do one month 40g a day and see it that works.

I assume by recovery you mean less DOMS. What about growth, increases in strength and so on? Less DOMS means less soreness following a workout but it doesn't seem to compute to, in bodybuilders and strength athletes, bigger and better gains.
