Hi,

I wouldn't expect too much, too soon - it all takes time and effort.

The main thing to realise is that if you stick with the diet and the training changes will happen - albeit they may take longer than you would like.

On a note of caution...where did you get the 18ish% bf figure from? It looks rather low to me - to be fair I would suggest you are probably mid twenties bf%.

We've had a lot of 'guess my bodyfat' threads on here recently and I think some of the figures stated are a little flattering to say the least.

Anyways, all the best with your training and diet - keep up the good work!

Sam

15lean. I thought the outcome of your "what BF% do you think I am" thread was somewhere around the 20-25% mark?

http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/m_2624149/tm.htm

This isn't having a go at you or anything but trying to make you understand you have a long way to go and you shouldn't begin having a deluded view of where you're currently at.

Getting a good physique is a marathon rather than a sprint, although if your marathon time's anything like Sam's then you'll be there in no time at all

you may want to consider building some muscle before trying to 'get cut'.

fair enough if youre unhappy with the way you look.
but if you started to lean bulk now, youll be bulking for longer than if you cut first
do it right and youll end up looking trimmer too.

today was legs been working on doing squats without the foam pad thing so on the first set of squats I had to stop after 4 reps as it was so uncomfortable the rest went fine though:

Squats: 75 x 4, 75 x 8, 75 x 8
stiff leg deadlifts: 50 x 8, 50 x 8, 50 x 8
ab exercise: 0 x 15, 2 x 12, 2 x 12
oblique exercise: 0 x 10, 0 x 10

I dont know the name of the last 2 exercises but they are the ones in nynjams journal.

On your Squats - try resting the bar a couple of inches lower down your Back ie. resting on your Traps, not across the back of your neck. It really shouldn't hurt if you've got it in the right place.

today did push decent enough workout had its ups and downs. first time i ever db bench pressed 22.5 x 8, but then on db shoulder press i had to drop the weight, I suppose thats to be expected on a cut

DB bench press: 22.5 x 8, 22.5 x 7, 22.5 x 7
DB shoulder press: 20 x 4, 17.5 x 8, 17.5 x 8
Dips: (bodyweight) 6, 6, 6

also did 1000m on the rower all out sprint style and then some stretches to cool down.

Hi 15lean, just spotted this journal. Good look with it all.

I agree with Tris on this one. Try something like a lean bulk.
What I used to do was train to build muscle, eat just enough to maintain and do as much cardio as you can stand.

Biggest tip is what SAM said, don't expect it over night. Keep with it and in the next 12 weeks you'll see a good change

hey cheers for having a read,

Ye after seeing what you guys are saying Im having second thoughts about the cut and ye a lean bulk might be more in order anyway im going to think about it for a couple of days before I make any decisions.

and ye I agree with sam Im not expecting results over night though im planning on doing this for at least 2/3 months

Good choice. You done the best thing by actually training mate, so just stick with it. It can get frustrating though!! Best thing to do is not to get weighed that often and take pics every now and then.
Look at the front of my journal, tere's pic of me from jan last year then one of me now. I'm not at all happy with how I look now but then I see what I was a year ago and I'm not too bad!!

Just stick with it for the long run mate!
