Just finished my tub of 90% chocolate and on the whole was very impressed, it mixed well and the flavour was pretty decent. However I tend to have a problem with milk when I have too much and towards the end of the tub started to get a dodgy belly. I'm guessing this is down to the Casein? What I wanna know is can anyone recommend a good whey isolate which isn't combined with concentrate that a) Mixes well with a shaker b) Tastes pretty good. Please no recommendations for MP, I find it only mixes when you blend and the lumps and taste make me wanna chuck (yes, even the impact) Thanks

Impact whey from MP isnt isolate its concentrate, and if you got lumps then you got NZ whey and not Euro if you have a problem with dairy why are you taking whey anyway

Because the effects are reduced with Isolate, I would take hemp or rice protein but nobody seems to rate it on here and there aren't as many options.

if its for PWO why not just use some food instead as Isolate is bloody expensive and i doubt you will see any tangible difference anyway, i havent

Yes PWO and before bed. I already take 4 meals to work with me, which is alott of time to spend preparing the night before and eating while I'm at work. I would rather a shake PWO for ease.

white pitta bread and a tin of tuna hard to prepare? stick another chicken breast on the foreman and have it with some nuts prebed, easy as pie you could try Soy Isolate if you want mate, see if MP could do you a sample as they are the only company that do it

No not hard to prepare at all, but I already have a tuna pita as one of my meals and chicken for another 2. Just saves on repetition. Like I said, I don't have that stronger reaction to dairy and most Isolates are ok, I would be keen to find a good mixing and tasting Isolate unless anyone can recommend Hemp or rice varieties?

Yes not sure on it not mixing, as it mixes instantly without lumps. Thanks :)

Thanks for the reply MP, I tried a sample from you which was unflavored, I added some Nesquick powder to it but It didn't taste good. I just can't get it to mix as well as some other powders with a shaker. Can anyone help, been without powder for a week now and getting a bit desperate. Most of the powders out there seem to be a blend of Isolate and Concentrate.

I already explained this, I use the powder for some variation and convenience, otherwise I would be eating too much of the same thing on a daily basis, I also prefer powder to food right before bed as it doesn't feel so heavy. Mackerel and Cottage cheese probably are good alternatives, but they take longer to prepare than a skake, longer to consume and my lady doesn't particularly dig the fish smell right before I get into bed. I appreciate that protein powder is no better than food and Isolate is very expensive in comparison to concentrate, especially when you way up the tangible benefits but, for me I find it has less impact on my stomach and therefore preferable. Different Strokes for different folks I guess! Don't take this the wrong way but please don't reply if you find this thread annoying or frustrating

Hi Thai fighter, thanks for the response, could I not use the CNP Pro Recover before bed? Is it because of cost you only recommend PWO? A lot of the bigger brands Isolate powders seem to be blended with concentrate but they're sneaky as you have to look at the ingredients to find that out. The ON and Nutrisport are both blends but Isolate is first on ingredients so would suggest it has more Isolate.

Yeah Nesquick isn't great. Is it better to add your own flavoring (i.e Options or Nesquick) over actual flavoured whey? That shaker looks very interesting, If I can get the MP powder to mix and taste good then it's a definite option!

Oh I see, I'm currently adding dextrose to my PWO shake and have a tun left, so will check out the ON shakes and see if they are any good, cheers for the reply.

Just out of interest, does anyone rate other protein sources for shakes, i.e Soy, Rice, Hemp, Egg ect.. Doesn't soy raise eostrogen levels? Can none of the other types match whey?
