Hey guys,

I just started at the gym for the first time 2 days ago, just wondering what people thought of my routine.

4 sets x 10 reps squats
4 x 10 deadlift
4 x 10 bench
4 x 10 seated cable row
4 x 10 upright rows

ive trained my arms with the usual newb bicep curls and so on with my friends weights for a while, so im gonna focus on other areas to begin with.

Also after having coming back from the gym, my legs and lower back are incredibly stiff and sore for the past 2 days, is this usual for a beginner? i didnt do any stretches or anything after each exercise as i was too knackered, but could this have made it worse?

Is this every session? How many times per week do you plan to do this? What are your goals?

At a glance I have to say I'm not keen on the idea of doing deadlifts and squats in the same session - they're both very draining lifts

If it's the first time you've done squats and deads then it's quite natural to feel sore in those areas
