To answer your question, yes

again that doesn't say lean muscle mass mate. That says lean mass, that can be bone, water, cartilage, increased platelet count etc. Nor does it say what body composition was/is before and at the end of the experiment. Also see my above post on it

Please do me a favour and stop posting what you believe are facts because you read them in a study you dont fully understand, not only is it dangerous but its irresponsible.

And the 17% increase in 1RM leg press? That implies it must be a decent amount of muscle.

Nope! Wrong again im afraid. You can gain strength with no muscle gain, thats what gear does. Some gear is used exclusively for strength and not gains in lean tissue

Also what was the weight they were leg pressing, what was the position of the sled, was the diet the same, what time of day was it too

Again its inconslusive

Grum,

first thing you should do is to learn about all the food groups and how you should eat through out the day (eg, size of meal, time) and how they will help you to reach your goal, when you have got your diet correct then concentrate on training good soild compound movements train all areas of your body,

Rest is a massive part of reaching of your goal as you boy needs time to repair muscles and get energy back,

if you going to use supplements learn about what each one does if you feel its for you then use it, eg, weight gainer is a shake that contains protein, carbs, fats and kcals ect its good as people find it hard to eat so much food in one day bascly its like a meal

yes, supplements do work as apart of good clean diet, they will help you reach your goal,

steroids are the last thing you want to be using as you have clearly shown you have a lack of knowlegde in terms of diet, training, supps ect, steroids are not just something to inject in youself and to grow massive over night iam sure if you get your diet in good shape may be use some supps like whey protein and train hard to can reach your goals in time.

1, diet
2, training
3, rest
4, supplements
5, steroids

To answer the question diet is key, then training, then rest then gear.

Yes you do need supplementation when on a cycle.

roids then? I have done some in the past, only small time tho, ie: winstrol, but would supplements help much if i know i'm going to put size on anyway or would i be throwing money away?

the following are in importance decending:

1.training.
2.diet.
3.rest.
4.supplements
5.A/A steroids

of course supplements will help! Need protien for repair/growth everyone knows that!

Sorry but I have to disagree. If you take enough steroids, you will grow, whether you workout or not, and your diet can consist of just about anything so long as their is alot of protein in it.

Strange then that many people using roids for medical purposes don't get massive then.

ive seen the study mate

it says fat free mass, not muscle tissue

Also the study results were taken when the subjects were still on cycle and not after PCT protocol was finished

Due to the aromatisation of Test the weight difference they would have had that accounts for Fat Free Mass is simply water

Also the study seems to show that 1) low levels of gear were used and 2) they had low levels of test before they started.

In other words under size, weak, skinny asses mofos with a medical condition took 100mg a week and added 3lbs.

thanks guys, its nice to see i got a bit of a discussion going, i thought at first i'd hit a brick wall. I think the lure of gear will never go away but i reckon ProteinBoy puts the right message across and i'll go with that for the time being, I dont think i'll ever go down the route of injecting, maybe just stick to the pills when the time comes. With the supps in mind, their is alot out there and it can blow your mind, so i think just sticking with plenty of protein and some malto should do the trick for the time being?

Good Idea. Whey Protein, Dextrose/malto and Creatine Mono are staples for me.

If you want something similar to steroids, once you have your diet nailed, there are non steroidal testosterone boosters which have very good reviews from people on this site. Have a look in the Pro-hormones, Designer Steroids & Testosterone Boosters forum.

Stick with diet & training....

From what it sounds, you would be ok without gear for now

How come half the guys here who lecture on diet, training and rest, and say who shouldn't use steriods, it's not the "right time" etc to use AAS still have **** bodies? very funny.

To the OP yes you use supplements during a cycle.

No you dont sense a queer eye, im straight. As for saying people look like sh1t when on gear i have come across people who say that who simply look like sh1t themselves unless they have a truly spectacular physique then theyre nothing more than keyboard hero

I reckon the only guys who look sh:te on gear are the one's who abuse it and dont know how to use the stuff, i see plenty of lads all ballooned up just for the ego who look sh:te and then see guys at comp's who look ripped to hell - these guys look amazing. Im straight aswell. lol
