Hi all, we're all wanting to get big but what's the best way to go about it? can you get big on just a good diet and decent supplements or just go for the steroids, if its the latter then do u need supplements aswell?

Dont even think about steroids till you actually have a clue firstly about steroids themselves (therefore you could easily answer this question yourself) ,secondly diet, third training and fourth your own body and what it responds too.

the following are in importance decending:

1.training.
2.diet.
3.rest.
4.supplements
5.A/A steroids

of course supplements will help! Need protien for repair/growth everyone knows that!

Ok, sorry guys "steroids", i'm here for advice not a telling off. So say i was going to go down the route of not using steroids, the only supplement i would need is protein and lots of it right?

you don't "need" any if you can eat enough solid food

personally I rely on shakes a lot now as I can get more cals in... so I use a weight gainer in milk and a whey shake in between every solid meal
having about 5 shakes ATM plus about 4-5 solid feeds + snacks like fruit and nuts
the shakes work out cheaper than food for me so I spend more on quality foods like eating rump steak more than once a day

It's interesting how the OP gives barely any info on himself (age etc) yet wants advice on supps with gear use. It's the 'answer only the question before you'. No. I'd wanna know if you are too damn young and inexperienced to use gear never mind giving you supps advice. That way MT doesn't get bitten on the ass by handing out advice on supps to a gear using 12 year old for example.

Hmmmmm id put diet above training personally and supplements do not need to be in the list at all if you have your diet nailed

ok Mobster, i'm 32, 5'11" and 188lbs, and married just incase you was interested , lol.
I have been training for a number of years and i do know the basic's, but you can read book after book and they wont always give you the honest answer and its not allways that easy to ask some1 face to face, but being on MT i can go from beginner to intermediate, i've read the articles now and they make good reading, cheers. I'm going to Mr.Britain in May so i'll get more advice there.

To answer the original question then in light of the above - yes.

Sorry but I have to disagree. If you take enough steroids, you will grow, whether you workout or not, and your diet can consist of just about anything so long as their is alot of protein in it.

LOL jog on mate

Im sure you have real world experience of this being 16 and shooting grams of test and eating kilos of protein

So to conclude, no stimulation of muscle means youll put on lean muscle mass yes when theres no signal to grow in the first place, right?

Christ i wish these peeps would stop purporting the notion of gear being magic beans to the general populous

Ok let me find the study. I'll edit this when I find it.

"We determined effects of testosterone supplementation (100 mg of testosterone enanthate injected weekly) with or without resistance training (45 minutes three times weekly) on body composition and muscle function in 47 men with COPD (mean FEV1 = 40% predicted) and low testosterone levels (mean = 320 ng/dl). Subjects were randomized to 10 weeks of placebo injections + no training, testosterone injections + no training, placebo injections + resistance training, or testosterone injections + resistance training. Testosterone injections yielded a mean increase of 271 ng/dl in the nadir serum testosterone concentration (to the middle of the normal range for young men). The lean body mass (by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) increase averaged 2.3 kg with testosterone alone and 3.3 kg with combined testosterone and resistance training (p < 0.001). Increase in one-repetition maximum leg press strength averaged 17.2% with testosterone alone"

To answer your question, yes

ive seen the study mate

it says fat free mass, not muscle tissue

Also the study results were taken when the subjects were still on cycle and not after PCT protocol was finished

Due to the aromatisation of Test the weight difference they would have had that accounts for Fat Free Mass is simply water
