just a tip to everyone: do not buy frozen chicken from Tescos own brand, its around 3quid/kilo but it must be around 50% chicken - no kiding.

I use TVP twice a day, great source of protein, really tasty if cooked properly!
As Daveo 50% protein, you can't beat it!

I am not a veggie by any stretch of the imagination, also eat chicken and beef but think TVP is a great alternative and couldn't live without it now.

Bought those frozen chicken breasts from Tesco and got to say they are cr@p like eating a piece of rubber filled with water, really put me off buying frozen chicken!

The only thing about TVP is it has about 25-30g per 100g of carbs so if you are on a cut/low calorie diet then this needs to be factored in!

No it's hard and powdery, and would swell up as soon as you mixed it with liquid.

Why would you want to do that anyway? Just buy soya protein powder.

I'll ask that to people who blend tuna and frozen chicken.

its 20g per 100g mate, no where near 30g of carbs per 100g of TVP

Besides not many people use 100g at once, it makes a hell of a lot of reconstituted product and 50g of protein at once, i think if youre big enough to have 50g protein per meal *assuming its over 6) then 20g of carbs here or there isnt that much of a big deal TBH.

10kg of unflavoured wpc80 protein from myprotein comes in at 0.79 pence per gram, equating to 0.98 pence per gram of protein.

That'll have a better amino acid profile than tuna too

(I don't work for myprotein b.t.w )
