asda's sells smart price tuna 27p, has 31gm protein in it

Thats less than a penny per gram of protein. Would have thought thats pretty hard to beat.

TVP - £1 for 500g. It's 50% protein.

asda also sell 3 mackeral fillets for £1, 18g protein but a lot nicer, choice of tamato, brine and sunflower oil

recently worried about mercury though

Just make sure to put some effort into flavouring it, otherwise you'll think it's too bland.

you can get it in tesco.

its in the whole food section and its called textured vegetable protein comes in a clear bag and looks abit like bread crumbs or couscous dont be fooled into buying anything frozen like i did lol.

H&B do sell it, but for the real bargains go to an indian supermarket. They refer to is as "soya mince" though.

For recipes, search in the recipes section. I've posted about 5 of them.
It wouldn't be nice in a stir fry though, it's more suited to things like bolognese, chili, lasagne, shepherds pie.... Things you'd use mince for.

IIRC pilchards are cheaper than tuna and you get a lot more nutrition for your money too

Stone just worked at that chicken from iceland is 0.0035p / gram !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less than 40p a gram.

£3.50 for 1KG!
