I will be training thai boxing on wednesdays at 18:15 till 19:15 Food in the day will be: 09:00 25g whey and 3 eggs with spinach 11:15 150g lean mince steak fried in olive oil tomatoes, onions, mushrooms 14:00 100g chicken and 70g mackeral Peppers Seeing as i'd be training at 18:15 i am guessing it would be fine to eat at 16:30 right? So how what could i eat around thai boxing and what timings would be best?

Looking at that mate you have a general lack of carbs. In the morning you could have a bowl of cereal At 11 there are none to speak of At 14 there a lot of protein and no carbs Even if you are cutting you don't need to leave carbs out, just have the right sort at the right times.

well carbs are high the day before and after as that's when training is. Maybe have carbs at breakfast, before and after training, like i do with weight days yes?

yep, deffo at breakfast... cereal is ideal IMO a small amount of carbs (a couple of oat cakes etc) mid morning would be protein sparing... you do weights so you don't want the protein being used as fuel and more carbs like rice or pasta along with your protein before training to fuel your training for performance reasons directly after training whey protein is OK on it's own but in your main meal @ 19:00 just have a normal amount like a couple of med-large potatoes with some steak/chicken/fish + lots of veg as you are cutting just keep lowering overall potion sizes, if you are not loosing enough fat either up cardio a bit more or cut portion sizes a bit more

A small amount of carbs mid morning to spare the protein, your body will still use a small amount and if you don't have a small amount your body might use some of the protein for energy. The bread at 16:30 is fine mate. The pasta after is good too. Any carbs after that should be as mid morning, make sure the are fairly low GI... oat cakes are great especially with a low fat cheese spread.

PS... don't have the exact same thing day in day out. Differant foods have differant benifits so swap some in and out, carb for carb, protein for protein fat for fat etc Have a look at this list: Carbohydrates (main source of your bodies fuel / energy) Oats Sweet Potato Potato Wholegrain Bread Basmati/Long Grain Rice Pasta Muesli (natural no sugar added) Weetabix Fibrous Carbohydrates (secondary source of fuel / energy but vital for healthy digestive system) Swede Beetroot Onions Tomatoes Radishes Spinach Broccoli Cauliflower Carrots Peppers Celery Cabbage Lettuce Cucumber Mushrooms Squash Green beans Brussel sprouts Protein (your bodies building blocks - builds muscle tissue) Chicken Lean Red Meat Tuna Mackerel Salmon Cottage Cheese Haddock Turkey Sardines Kippers Whey Protein shakes Milk Quorn Fromage Frais and Yogurts Seeds Eggs Bacon Good Fats (+EFAs) (dense calories / needed for general health, immune system, mood and hormones) Olives Olive Oil Flax Seeds/Linseed Flax Oil Almonds Cashews Nut Butters (hazel/almond/cashew/peanut) Fatty Fish (kippers/sardines/mackerel/salmon/pilchards) Avocados Nut Oils Columbus Eggs/DHA eggs Seeds Macadamia nuts UDOs Oil Fish Oils such as EPA oil and salmon oil

yeah mate im with John on the fact that your carb intake isnt very high maybe have some porridge in the morning try not to eat anything after 4.30 because it will make you feel tired and bloated when you go to thai i know from experience

So my body will use protein for fuel if i have protein and fat meals, even when sedentary? If this is true then why does a standard cutting diet have fat and pro only meals?
