ORIGINAL: Titch Integra, you haven't seen 00s of people bench 160kg. Why would you lie about that? 160kg is by no means an amazing BP, but it's certainly not something one person would see hundreds of other people doing in gyms. I haven't seen any decent raw benches. I've seen a couple 230kg+ BWLA shirted attempts. That's it. You know nothing about me and what I do so you are in no position to state what I have and have not seen.

ORIGINAL: Drago im sorry but Integra you are wrong! No I am not 160kg is a **** load of weight imo! It is a lot of weight but achievable for a serious trainer at 18 stone Also how many serious trainers are 18stone? Thats also a lot of weight To be fair! As I have stated, I have met many. Also i take offence at the term 'Recreational Bulker' I am sorry that you are offended, that was not my intention, merely stating my opinion I train hard and have been on a continuous bulk for around a year although it is time to cut soon Does training for a year equal my definition of a serious trainer? No. 160kg is 25stone you say that should be 'easy' for a man 18 stone. thats almost 1 and a half times his body weight! i dont think that would be easy! A 1.5x BW bench press is far from the realms of fantasy. For a serious trainer this is very achievable.

Off the top of my head , we had around 130 people in yesterday - of those I know for a fact that at least 9 of them can bench 160 Although our gym has / had some strongman connections , we don't have anyone that is competing currently , and only one of those 9 yesterday was a former strongman, the rest are all recreational bodybuilders (if you can even call them that ) That said , I would say that most of the big benchers are also Genetic freaks - They haven't progressed a long way to get where they are , they simply started off pretty strong to begin with ! I'd say that although it is rare to see someone who has BUILT their bench from <100k to 160+ ... It is not so rare to see 160's in themselves ( at least not in my gym )
