This is a diet based post but also very much related to training so hopefully this is the most appropriate forum for it.

I'm embarking on a 12 week period of cutting and will gradually be introducing more CV exercise into my week over time. This week I began SSCV and in the next few weeks I will introduce some lunchtime sessions.

My question is what would be the optimal food requirements and timings to ensure I'm maximising these sessions, i.e. I want sufficient fuel to enable me to train but not so much that it negates the whole point of the session.

[Added this comment for clarification] To begin with I will do one of the following sessions per day rather than all of them each day. I may end up doing 2 sessions per day though further along the line though.

Session 1: 30-45 mins AM SSCV (spinning bike) - I awake at 06:15 and after faffing around at home and driving in, arrive at work at 07:45 to begin session.
Should I have anything beforehand? A protein shake perhaps?
Afterwards? Protein & oats shake?

Session 2: 30 mins lunchtime SSCV (spinning bike) - I currently eat at 11:00 (150g chicken and veg) then at 12:45 (4 x weetabix). I'll be training sometime between 12 and 13:30.
Should I have anything following the chicken meal and before the session?
Afterwards? Protein & oats shake?

Session 3: 20 mins lunchtime HIIT (rower or bike) - anything different here than session 2?

If you can give any advice then most appreciated as I don't want the next 12 weeks to be a fruitless effort.

time it before one of your pro/carb meals

i wouldn't do a HIIT session plus 2 sessions of CV tho

I probably made that unclear. The 3 sessions are all different sessions that I will one of per day rather than all 3 every day. I'll begin with 3-4 sessions per week and as weight loss slows down I will ramp it up to 2 sessions a day and up to 5 days a week.

Thanks for the comments R.

The last 5 years or so have been bulking so this cutting lark is completely unchartered territory for me
