I am considering fighting at heavy weight in bosing, which is up to 91kgs.

At the moment I am 92kgs, but I am not in fighting shape so I am going to be small for the weight.

Should I try and bulk up to about 100kgs so that when I cut weight I am lean at 91kgs?

How would I be best adjusting my diet to do this? and what sort of timescale would be safe to add the bulk?

i would personally cut to the lighter weight than be the lightest heavyweight carrying muscle that is a bit big for your frame as a fighter

but

cut first to a lean state and then add the bulk slowly whilst maintaining fitness by doing cardio so that you are never far away from being fighting fit this way you will be better prepared and wont loose the hard earned muscle

as for time frame, aim to add 1lb per month imo as your not a beginner to training

ideally i would be a light heavy weight but I think 83kgs is as light as I can get unless I starve myself for a good while,
and waste some muscle to make the limit of 81kgs, 12stone 10lbs at 6ft 5 is going to be pretty skinny, even though its a BMI of 23ish I think.

When I make 85kgs for thai boxing, I am on 140g of carbs per day and single figure bodyfat.

I am in complete agreement here. Being lean but naturally heavier at a weight but in a position where you don't have to go crazy with the cutting pre fight is very advantageous. Slowly as your years training increase you will find it harder to stay at the lower weight, then you take a break add some quality mass and then take a fight at the higher weight. This transition is always tough but the scenario I just mentioned is a better springboard to go from than the one you mention.

As above bulking up in a short time from the starting point of higher body fat levels isn't a very efficient way to do it.

I would take fights at a lower weight and then reconsider when making the weight becomes too deleterious on your performance.

What if I try to make the 81kgs limit and find that I cant do it? where does that leave me?

In Muay Thai I fight at 85kgs, which I can make with some dedication. I think if I realy had to I could shift another maybe 2kilos but I dont know about shifting 4- that is 9lbs in weight and for a same day weigh in that is a lot of weight.

When I am 85kgs I must have single digit body fat so how much more can I hope to take off to make the weight?

As stated in the combat sports section, look at losing a little muscle mass to make the lower weight. Would much rather be a big guy in a small division than a small guy in a big division.

Here are phoptos of my belly a few days before 2 of my last fights at 85kgs, so I am probably about 87kgs in these fights, do you think I could take another 5-7kgs off?

What about your legs? Are they muscular? Do you think you could lose some mass from them?

They are pretty slim, not much mass on them, I will take a photo or look for one.

Hard to tell really mate. Personally I would try and lose some mass from my legs. Think of the advantages of being a 6'5 light heavyweight, it would be frightening.

I know, I am going to try and make it for 1 fight see how I go. If I have 2-3 months notice I could be ok. The 2nd last time I made 85kgs however I was failing in th ebedroom department etc it wasnt pretty.
