Cool , Welcome to the fold

Shame you didn't get on with yours Murphyblew - but at least you gave it a good go , I find the iPhones camera "adequate" at best , but TBH I don't really see cameras on phones as good for much more than snapshots - I have a 3.2mp one on my E90 and that to me is the pinnacle of what I'd expect from a phone !
But as I always say , Different strokes for different folks - if a better camera is important to you , then you'll need to look elsewhere

Fortunately , you could probably sell your iPhone as a good profit on Ebay , so nothing lost !

I know, just a shame I spent hours, half filling it with stuff before I made my mind up! and yeh, finger crossed, it doesn't look like I'll be making much of a loss either on ebay

Once you have Jailbroken , simply run the installer app that should appear on your homepage

Also buy not getting the contract you are supposed to will this stop me moving to o2 in the near future when my orange contract runs out ?

You may not be able to help but i thought id ask.

ahaa it works!

cheers for that mate, nah I hadn't installed itunes!

just getting to grips with it now and theres a couple of things which I can't figure out

I've put my old sim in and I presumed it would carry over all of the stuff I had on my old sim, such as contacts, music, photos etc onto the iphone, but it doesn't appear to have done. Is there something I can do to enable this?

cheers

Sims can hold only about a mb of info I would imagine.........

Bluetooth is your ansewer here, simple send them all over to the iPhone with this, you should be able to do this with all your contacts too.

Tempted to have a look too. £169 and about £220 min sell on, after fee's you'll still be £30 odd up anyway. Hmm tempting. If I like I keep, if I think its ok I sell - win win!

You don't actually enter into any kind of agreement with O2 , you simply buy the phone from them - the agreement is when you activate via iTunes - which involves setting up your 18 month agreement
Now , if you DON'T use iTunes to activate (i.e. setting up an 18 month contract) you are violating the EULA - All this means is that Apple / o2 are not obliged to support you in any way -
Much as companies are like Apple and Microsoft like to throw their legal weight around , they cannot make laws ! - an EULA is not a law , it is simply an agreement between you and the manufacturer - if you don't keep your part , they don't have to keep theirs !
So you can't get in any Trouble - and I have not heard of one case where a users has been chased up by O2 to take a contract out either
What Apple CAN do (and have done !) is wait for you to come crawling back for a software update and cripple your phone for not doing as they ask !

how does the online thing work in terms of price. Ive heard loads of ppl being stung with massive phone bills cus of using the internet on their iPhones.

also, can you connect your iPhone to your own wireless modem at home for free internet usage?

I know that you can with the touch and I think I read somewhere as well that you can with the iphone.
Someone will be able to tell you for sure.

Just get in a wifi zone for free internet. If you use the internet connection on the fone, it will be whatever you sim provider charges for data downloads/uploads...

Looks like they still have them at CPW online

...Or instore at any O2 store - It is supposed to be till 1st of June - This was always going to be popular though , and as I said earlier I suspect the idea was to clear all stocks in time for the 3G launch in June
