When i do cardio i feel so bad i go light headed and feel majorly tired for the rest of the day and even the day after. I think it may be diet but i can't see why as i eat approximately 3500 calories a day. I do suffer from asthma but dont have any symptoms of it during or after cardio. Any ideas?

Light-headedness suggests hypoglycaemia. What was the intensity & duration of the cardio? What had you eaten beforehand and when?

typically i would have eaten white rice 250g chicken and some fruit about 3 and a half hours beforehand. Cardio consists of about half hour of running about 75% of full intensity.

from that Nige is right - low blood sugar - you need some fuel closer to the cardio

(about 200g of chicken with 2 slices brown bread) Try using Burgen/Vogel's soya & linseed bread as it's slower-release.

1pm:
250g chicken
rice or couscous How much? Try Brown Basmati as it's slower-release.
sweetcorn How much?

4pm:
pwo shake consisting of peanuts, oats, whey, skimmed milk Peanuts & milk in a PWO shake will slow absorption of the whey.

I alos get headaches post cardio. Another symptom of hypoglycaemia.

What can be done about hypoglycaemia?

The amount of rice is quite a lot i have never measured it out but i would guess around 200g and sweetcorn is probably around the 100g mark.

Eat slower release carbohydrates as specified in green above and eat them about 2 hours before your workout.

Sounds like dehydration to me.

How much water are you drinking a day?

Have you tried Nige's suggestions for a few days?

This is weird. Is it possible that half hour of running at about 75% of full intensity is too much? How long does it take for you to feel bad after starting running?
