I have broadband from BT and have my cable plugged into my home hub. I want to make it operate wirelessly so can anyone advise what I might need for this.

Is it just a simple case of plugging in a wireless USB dongle and letting the magic of technology do it's stuff or do I have to actually reconfigure/install any software?

Cheers

Should be a case of getting a wirless USB connection for your PC/ lappy..........anything involving BT after that might require believing in God.

To be fair I've been rather impressed with BT's customer service so far.
When I first got the broadband they 'took over' my PC and installed and connected it for me.

When it subsequently wouldn't connect a few months later the guy on the phone couldn't be any more helpful in establishing the problem.

Hopefully making it wireless will be a simple procedure also.

Just plug in your wireless card or dongle or whatever your using then run the CD that BT send you out with the hub.
One of the setup options is a choice between setting up a wired or wireless connection.

Can't go wrong matey.

Once have wireless card/adaptor installed just go to search network, click on yours and it'll ask for long digit key on back of the hub. Is pretty easy stuff.
You're lucky if have had decent service from BT so far, had two weeks no phone line or broadband and then one week no broadband and they swore nothing wrong..Ended up being a fault at their end..And now the wireless on the hub plays up..If you get the chance a direct cabled connection is best

My iMac found the signal and logged on automatically.

For folks visiting with laptops, they just need to find the wireless network and then tap in the code that's located round the back of the white phone-base aerial flashing-light thingy.

No probs from BT here either. I have the same set up LM and it's as the guys say, use a wireless card or dongle and Bob's your uncle
