I had arthritis in my hands when I used to work as a chef: I took Extra Strength Cod Liver Oil caps & after a month all the symptom have subsided. You can use Glucosamine as well...

Osteo is the wear & tear arthritis. Rheumatoid is the auto-inflammatory one. All I can suggest, apart from fish oil caps (which are anti-inflammatory but you may need more than 2,000mg/day of EPA+DHA) is ......... Vitamin D3! (which is also anti-inflammatory). 5,000iu/day should do the job. Do you have any cartilage damage in addition to inflammation? If so, 1,500mg/day of Glucosamine Sulphate (as Malika mentioned) and 1,000mg/day of MSM may help.
