I did my back in for 18 months while deadlifting, ok i guess my form was wrong but I'd never do another deadlift as long as I live after what I went through

Lets be honest, deadlifts probably are bad for you. And squats. Most heavy compounds in fact. They're not natural movements, good form or not. I struggle to think of any serious trainers without a niggle or long term injury. Physiologically the human body is not designed to deadlift, otherwise the spine wouldn't be positioned as it is and the length it is.

Does this mean I think he's right saying deadlifting will give everyone a bad back? no. Will I stop doing heavy deadlifts? Hell no

never had any probs

Infact i used to always have back problems when i was younger since starting training more seriously i have noticed

that i get back pain almost never and I DO DEADLIFTS!

I would say they are infact good for your back! Well thats my experience of it anyway!

Agreed! Pretty much sums up exactly what i think on the matter.

squatting is natural lol and so is deadlifting as is shoulder pressing

Age - 18
Bench - 95kg (at 63kg)
Deadlift - 120 (at 63kg)
