not really, it felt like heaven to be honest, but you can feel some pain in your ankles etc, cos your hanging from them. If you are reluctant to let your body really stretch it can feel a little odd, and a bit of pain, but as you get used to it, you can fully relax and get the full stretch in, which is amazing. i Totally recommend inversion as recovery tool, i use it when ever my back feels tight and always after deadlifts

hmm? well i can only afford to buy 1 or other and the tables are more expensive, there are cheap ones on ebay but dont no about the quality of them, my weight might bend them cheap ones. would it not be ok to start with the boots and hang say 2 mins per day? and slowly add time on?

you're quite a heavy guy mate, I'd go for an inversion table as the reason i've stated... The Medicarn Deluxe one for £39.99 on e-bay looks good...go for a named one I've been told... Have you been advised to use one?

stone, like i said before mine was like 60 quid and that includes postage, i weigh over 17 stones and i hang fully inverted on it and do sit ups, there is no bending in it or weakening in strength as far as i can tell. if you position your butt differently on the table, ie pushing out or in you'll feel the streth less or more around your hips

Have you been advised to use one? no not advised, iv asked my chiro and physio and they say it would be a good idea to try one and see how i get on with one. but i read that the teeter ones are best and cant afford one of those.

ok think i will get a table then. do u no why they make you hang upside down by feet? why not by your hands? wont a guy with wrist straps and a chin bar be able to do the same by hanging up right to stretch lower back? i guess you wouldnt get a stretch from the shoulders up to your neck

I was given that exercise to do by my physio and Osteopath...but even they agreed that hanging from your hands for more than a minute at a time is difficult - impossible for most of the public maybe!?? The reason for the inversion and why the table is so good is because gravity over the years is constantly compressing our spine...the weight of your head shoulders arms etc...by going upside down the gravity is reversed giving discs relief and its also very good for increasing circulation throughout the body...
