I don't see why kitty?

If it were part of forum rules in black and white then I can't see how you'd get stick for handing a warning out

Some members whinge they can't talk politics and religion, imagine what they'd say about this. As I said, I do not think it's right but can't see it being a rule, it's like asking someone not to post a swear word, who are we to police that? I think member pressure on the culprit would be better here.

"Whinge" or say that they think its unfair or disagree?

Heaven forbid anyone wants to do anything you or the other mods disagree with

Some disagree, some think it's unfair.....no worries, can't please everyone. Others whinge.

Not sure where you're coming from with your last comment mate. The board has rules, anything else is fine to a point whether I or other mods like it or not

Yes spoilers are fecking irritating but on a board with so many members then someone is bound to get a rush of blood and post away in the heat of the moment.

If I don't want to see a result then I turn off the TV, Internet and sometimes my brain so that I don't see it. . but as we all know will power isn't my strong point so after about an hour I log onto BBC.co.uk

I agree. The BBC are koonts for this too. Log onto the sport page and there it is in all its glory.

A bit of consideration from people on here would go a long way. Some of these fights cost a lot of money to see.

Exactly Rosco and can you imagine how p!ssed you would be if you traveled 1000miles, paid £1,500.00 to see a fight live, and then the next day you logg on to Muscle talk to see the results were posted there, what a spoiler eh

the member that posted the spoiler which started this thread, posted the result in the title and all he added in his post was 'yeah' i avoided all the other posts about the fight as i knew people would be discussing it in those threads.

fcuking moron, he did it on purpose.

like i said i'm up for a public stoning, guess the only consolation is that it was a **** fight.

the problem with relying on other members pressure is it is generally reactive rather than proactive. There have only been a few (Hatton, Calzaghe) in the last few years that need some level of moderation regarding thread title /content. There is already an "Official Calzaghe" thread in the Fighters forum, numerous ones on the general forum and if the titles are not policed then all it will lead to is members avoiding the board altogether which shouldn't be the case.

Pete hit the nail on the head IMO

This thing has been blown out of proportion, the way some of you are acting is ridiculous.

while we are at it we should stop people talking about anything tv related just incase one of the member hasnt got round to watching the latest eastenders for example.

i'm sure the owners of the board really do want hordes of members avoiding the board because some bell ends choose to put spoilers in thread titles.

ask yourselves this, is it really hard to keep the result OUT of the thread title? is it fcuk.

as for the eastenders comment, thats what i'd expect from a 16 year old member.

Bit OTT mate, doubt we will lose members because of thread spoliers

Visitors of the gen section, perhaps. At a push.

i think its a great idea to ban indivduals from posting sporting results, while we are at it we should stop people talking about anything tv related just incase one of the member hasnt got round to watching the latest eastenders for example.

You seem to be confusing posting the results with posting a spoiler in the bloody thread title, which obviously isn't necessary.

But the reaction doesn't have to be nasty. I think if done without any thought and then other members put them right rather than being awful, they would change the title. Mods are not on 24/7 especially at the time that the thread was posted which is why it would be good if members could help out.

I think Tony is wrong when he says people should be shot for it.

Spoilers are a pain in the arse, but it's a tricky one. Although there a few basic courtesies that we could follow:

Not giving the result of a sporting event in a title for 24 hours

Not giving the ending away to any film released in the [reallllly long number here] in the title or in any post content.

Not giving away the plot of any tv programme if it's yet to be shown on terrestrial.

i know that sporting events ect are discussed on this board and that is fine, i even participate in them sometimes but i do not think i should have to stay up until whatever hour to watch the boxing so i don't have to be 'scared' to go on MT, my bbing resource, the next morning. I'm not saying that members cannot discuss the results of football, boxing, F1 ect but all people have to do is not include the result in the thread title, i do not see how hard that can be. So no i do not think i, or anyone else, has over reacted.
