James i think it would be a good idea to make it one of the rules of MT that you are not allowed to put spoilers in the title of your thread. If someone feels the need to post about a competition/sporting event that has just happened can you please make it a rule that they have to mark it 'spoiler inside' and just have a title that indicates what the thread is about (eg, Arsenal v Man Utd (spoiler inside) or whatever.
I think this would be a good idea and stop alot of frustration mounting up between members on the board.
anyone else agree?

I believe warnings should be handed out. This has been brought up a few times now.

If you can't afford a little consideration to other members then you should be warned.

I agree. The BBC are koonts for this too. Log onto the sport page and there it is in all its glory.

A bit of consideration from people on here would go a long way. Some of these fights cost a lot of money to see.

i'd prefer a public hanging or stoning.

its been done time and time again on here, i only logged on to see if there'd been a reply to another thread i posted in and was met with the result of the fight as a title.

i can only assume he's done it on purpose, look at what he's written in his post 'yeah' i mean wtf is that about? he'll not be on all day so unless it gets deleted more and more people will be logging on trying to avoid the result and having it ruined.

this is the first time i'll be putting someone on the block list.

anyway i'm all rant-ed out now

*counts to 10*

I don't see the big deal. You turn the TV on, or the radio, or bump into a neighbour, it is highly likely the event will be mentioned. when you log on the internet as well it will most likely be mentioned somewhere, like the msn homepage or even muscletalk!

its not likely at all, i've recorded the fight. i'm off into to uni for a group meeting in an hour, i'll probably be there for 5-6 hours at whch point i would have been looking forward to getting home having some nice food and watchin the fight.

I got up this morning and wanted to check MT whilst drinking my tea, then I was gonna switch the sky+ed fight on.....I knew that some twat would have blurted the result in general though and so didn't.

I was amazed only one nob ruined it for many.

I agree...a warning should be in place for spoilers now....it happens every time there is a sporting event, every week many complain.....are these people fcuking stupid when they post a spoiler?

I tell you what I think! ( not that it matters). I think these people are that childish that they like everyone to know that they knew the result first.

Maybe the MODS could change the title or delete the thread?

I agree it really isnt fair. (Even though my dad ran in to my room at 7 and told me the result) A warning system is a good idea or mutings.
I think ill just use gaffer tap for my dad that should shut him up.

If you don't want to know the news don't go to a news site?

Seriously, how thick do you have to be?

I'd love to see the criticism we'd get for warning/banning people for putting thread spoilers in titles although I do agree that it is courtesy to fellow members not to do such things.

I don't see why kitty?

If it were part of forum rules in black and white then I can't see how you'd get stick for handing a warning out

although I do believe that all the fuss that's been made of this (I include myself) will only encourage people to do it for a laugh in future
