I do 8 sets of 50 situps in quick succession and 4 sets of 40 pressups in between every 2 sets of situps 400 situps and 160 pressups every 2-3 days normally 2 about 12 stone i also do alot of running... however, I find although i am lean, i cant seem to have a decent 6 or 8 pac apart from the days i am doing my abs + pecs workout. people comment on how sharp i look but i feel doing this amount i should look totally ripped but i dont as much as id like What is better and gives more definition/larger abs than doing standard situps? diet etc is decent

Squats and Deads stimulate the core too. Do you include these in your routine? Not 100% sure but I think you are maybe overtraining your abs... EDIT: - Added Also as you already know, how visible your abs are depends on the the bodyfat levels you have so maybe you need to shed some more bodyfat before you reach your ideal?

to get a shredded look your diet needs to be better then 'decent' mate. Personally i have never done a cut but people such as hulkster/AJ/nymjam have amazing diets to reach their goals. Post up your average days diet and people will be able to help you.

I dont do any squats or deads slipdigby. i had no idea they would make a difference, il start doing that si my diet is not incredible! by any means, however 5 days a week its basically just spent 15 minutes posting it up but with all my little add ons and extra cheese toasties i think i can see part of the problem for myselfe, so wont bother wasting someones time to tell me, as if your saying totally nailed diet is necessary then i need to change that and will thanks gentlemen

Diet, weights and cardio all need to be in place to get a low bodyfat which will reveal abs for you if these arent in check then relevant forums are here to help Diet forum for nutrition plan training for weights routine cardio for cardio routine Good luck

Who's the abs for then mate? I don't understand guys who go to such lengths for a bodypart that very few will see...unless your competing obviously...IMO I'd look at the bigger picture, abs mean very little without a body to match!

you mean the guys that have abs due to low bf level but no muscle anywhere else. I'm with you i'd rather have a wide back decent traps and delts etc than ripped abs

Train your whole body too. If you have great abs but no chest it just looks stupid. Ohh, and I've found hanging knee raises to work my abs alot more. After 5 x 8ish I can feel the doms the next day. Ok, doms isn't a sign of a necessarily good workout, but i've done situps before and they don't do anything for me, except make it hard to breathe when doing them. Dave

lying leg raise's are decent aswell, but isn't decent abs down to genetics aswell? I mean some people try there hardest but still cant manage a six pack.

If your an ectomorph then naturally you will find it easier to have a six pack. You will also find it naturally harder to ever be big. If you are an endomorph you will find the opposite is the case. People with good abs and "bad" chests dont neccesarily train for that its just what there body does for them.

Abs are made in the kitchen. doesnt matter much core work you do, f your diet is **** then you wont have abs. unless your some kind of freak like a mate of mine....in that case then I have no idea

Serioulsy though not everyone can have an amazing six pack, my bro is ten times more into his diet and training etc than i am and an ex juice user and while he does have good abs my mate who has never used gear and doesn't have a diet plan etc can have much better looking ones.

put simple train abs=get abs lower bodyfat=reveal/uncover abs. you can do all the situps in the world and build your abs, but if you cant lay of the pies (reference to myself before anyone gets upset!) youll never see them. at the same time if you have low bodyfat % and cant see abs, you need to train the and possibly eat more (quality not pies ) if they are not progressing

Abbs We've all got them; Some have pronounced sets and with just diet keeps them in good form And others can work their butt off and they will hardly see the 'light of day' So genetics play a big part John
