If your trapesing around Indochina, getting protein at breakfast is the least of my worries!!!! Enjoy your travels and forget anything training related!

Anyway you'll find that they often eat meat for breaky in that part of the world particulary with noodles etc. In Vietnam they did beef in gravy with fried eggs and a french baggette on the side. Add soy, chilly sauce and limes and it was the best breaky ever and only bout 50p!

I'd be in negative numbers of protein if I had a few quid in my pocket over there, 5 dollar the going rate?

I presume that's what Mook was referring to in his post.

you'd be amazed what you can get food wise in thailand pigeon, its pretty commercial as a holiday place now.

i bought a few sachets of mrp when i got to bangkok, took them round with me for when i got hungry on the go on the jungle treks.

as for training, i trained a fair few times in the 2 months i was there. trained with the then Mr Thailand in bangkok, he was fcuking ripped to shreds and the bloke that owned the gym had sh1t loads of weird animals round the back of the gym. its not in the touristy bit though and i was the only white face around the area and only stumbled upon it from exploring, only charged me £1 to train too and got a free protein shake after!

trained a couple of times in chang mai, koh samui then when i went to kuala lumpur i trained in a hardcore gym there.

i was hospitalised out there due to some severe food poisioning bug i got, coupled with massive dehydration i lost 6kg in under 2 days, was lucky i managed to get on a moped and get to hospital, otherwise it could have been much worse.

i went out there weighing about 87kg and came back 79kg, lowest weight was 76kg. i lost weight before i got food poisioning, but unless my diet is spot on a do anyway.

not a good look at 6ft 5", i've got a picture somewhere of me in the hospital stood up with a drip in me after having a mcdonalds delivered to my room! the hospitals over there are amazing, was really well looked after.

hospital and isurance company even looked into flying my family out during my first night there i was that bad.

Oh no. That doesn't sound too good. I've still got this image of Thailand being some run-down third world area but of course it's not like that at all.

On a brighter note - PW, if things take a turn for the worse like with Big D, at least you can draw upon your moped riding skills to get yourself to hospital. Providing of course a gang of 12 year old Thai kids doesn't stop you

How important is it to have protein when you wake up/ for breakfast?
Not important at all. Just make sure you get enough protein during the day and you'll be O.K.

If someone's in caloric surplus and gets sufficient protein, it doesn't matter if they skip breakfast as catabolism & anabolism is like swings and roundabouts....on average, they're anabolic.

If someone eats 250g of protein a day and usually eats 6 meals but after 4 meals the person is really tired and wants to have his 5th meal and then go to sleep and not stay awake until his 6th. If (from the first 4 meals) the person already had 140g of protein and usually eats 250 throughout the day, in his 5th meal before bed can he have 110g of protein and then go to sleep? Will this be exactly the same as staying up and splitting it up

(i think the answer here is yes I just want to reconfirm that I understand everything)

no one knows exactly how much you can eat in one go.

it will all be converted to what is needed.

why do you HAVE to eat 6 meals though? ive been able to fit all my nutrients into 5 meals and i dont think im dieing or anything.

I'd be taking a couple of KG Whey in ziploc bags with me. Problem solved.

Make sure its choc, brown powder, just to spice things up bit at customs.
