How important is it to have protein when you wake up/ for breakfast?

The reason I ask this is because I am going travelling soon to Thailand and obviously I wont have any protein shake on me.

But obviously I will be eating bread etc which each slice has 4g in anyway so if I smash 4 in then im getting 16g straight away aswell as carbs and fat (butter light).

I read if you don't get at least 17g of protein upon waking you die [:o]

So your 4 slices of bread is vastly insufficient.

But I bet there would be a nice loaf of bread (prefferably hovis) sat in a tree waiting for me. [;)]

Im going to Thailand you dafty might not get the essentials I need [:D]

Will you still be training and how do you think the rest of your diet will be.

And how long are you going for.

(Also, leeches are a source of protein with a staggering 38g per leech but only if eaten raw [;)])

But they arnt just leeches......they are **** suckin leeches.........surly that adds a few g's?

Oh yes I might have to do a bear grills and get stuck in to the pesky little creatures!

As for training I will just be doing press ups, situps, dips and chin ups from trees etc
Whenever I get the chance to use a gym I will, but I just want to maintain what I got

As for diet I reckon I'll be eating 3x maybe 4x a day and it will be anything I can get my hands on.

Going for 2 maybe 3months.

Uncle Pete. Probably best if you report back at lunchtime. Unless you're dead from protein malnourishment.

Pigeon - realistically you're not going to be in the right environment for training so the likelihood is you won't actually maintain any sort of regular sessions so I'd forget about getting your macronutrient intake spot on because even if you manage the first meal, the rest won't follow accordingly.

Take the 2/3 months off and enjoy yourself. Get back into training properly when you return.

Realisticly if im getting at least 60g protein per day how much muscle will I lose in 2 -3 months without training?

PW - let's be honest. You haven't a great deal of muscle to begin with so I don't think you'll notice too much of a difference when you return.
